Monthly Challenge: April 2023

Welcome to our first monthly Listopia Madness challenge. It is a relatively simple challenge. Every month you will get 3 listopia lists from me and 3 from the winners of the previous month. *Please note that if you do not respond in a reasonable amount of time that the 4th place person (and so on) will replace you until we get 3 lists.

How it works
📘You will read as many books as you want from as many of the lists provided as you want.
📘You will score each book using the point system provided below
📘You will keep a running tally of your total in your post (try to keep your books in one comment, if possible for easy tracking)
📘I will contact the 3 highest-scoring readers at the end of the month and they will each choose one listopia list to be included in the next month's challenge.

I do things the slow way. At the start of the challenge I go through every list and make a note of the books in the list that are on my TBR and their place on the list. Then for the rest of the month, I try to read from those books :)

LOL! Like Ashley said, we like giving bonus points and have been talking about it since December.

I'm in for this one too! Y'all said bonus points and I really have to sit down tomorrow and catch things up. March just went crazy but I have a vacation in April, no more student intern, and the crazy work months should be getting better. April will be better!

Also, quick question. If there is a book on a list that is part of a series, can any book in that series be read and counted or only if it shows up on the list? Most books that are listed on the lists are the first in a series but the rest of the books apply as well so I thought that I would ask.

Yep!

I seem to have mostly short books on my tbr from the lists this month. works out perfectly, because next month is when I'll be reading longer books again, lol.

I'm actually finding books this time! so exciting!

The Dystopian list and the SF masterworks list have a LOT of cross-over. I have far more books that are on both sitting on my shelf than I'll be able to read in a month, lol.

As long as the book is on the list, the edition doesn't matter.

Team challenges can go either way... either they help, or they hinder. I usually find the latter is the case, but glad UNO is playing nice for both of us, lol.
