Skye Blue ☆*~゚ლ(´ڡ`ლ)~*☆ (surendraskye) | 656 comments For the bookshelf for our recommendations, can it be assumed that if it is a series, then what ever book your are on in the series is good?
I don't want to fill my picks with a bunch of books from the same series.

message 52: by Jessica (new)

Jessica S | 458 comments hmmm, I would say if it's a series where each can be read as a standalone then they should be added separately. If it's the same couple each book then any book from that series?

message 53: by Jessica (new)

Jessica S | 458 comments Just want to say we each get 1 pass for the whole challenge but another team member will need to read an extra book. Some challenges you can't pass on.

Also I won't be heavily enforcing this as I want everyone to be comfortable with the pace, but this is what MountainKat has said:

A player will be removed if they make no comment for 3 days after a new task is assigned or 2 days after the rest of the team completes the task (whichever is later), despite attempts to make contact. This is a very interactive challenge! You will be expected to check in with your team regularly, multiple times a week if not daily. It is the team's responsibility to notify the host (me) if a teammate fails to complete the task in a timely manner or otherwise goes missing!

message 54: by DeeNeez (last edited Oct 10, 2024 12:32PM) (new)

DeeNeez | 551 comments Kat has this listed at the bottom of all the tasks

Series rule will apply to tasks where you pick from the group or a teammate's shelf.

So I think Jessica may have the right idea. Maybe verify with Kat on what her series rule is?

message 56: by Jessica (last edited Oct 10, 2024 12:28PM) (new)

Jessica S | 458 comments I would say maybe post as often as possible, even if it's a simple 'not started yet' or 'reading - at %'.

Anyone have favorite year or month?

message 68: by Jessica (last edited Oct 10, 2024 01:39PM) (new)

Jessica S | 458 comments 49 I think we should do this year and month either October/November? (please don't be shy if you disagree)

50, need to query what she means by location as just picking USA seems too easy.

message 69: by DeeNeez (new)

DeeNeez | 551 comments November of this year may be too hard, as those books have not yet been released. But I can get behind September or October

Diane | 718 comments It is a lot for sure. Not sure we have to have it all figured out before Saturday, but it will make it faster.

Do we use the same author for 1 and 73? Hopefully we won't have both of those tasks!

Moon on the cover is fine with me

Wolf as an animal is also fine with me

Color cover -- black???

Beach maybe versus mountain (no strong feelings here)

My preference for future vs past would be past, again, no really strong feelings

Tree on cover should be do-able

Tropes -- found family? Friends to lovers? Enemies to lovers? Age gap? Fake relationship? Second chance?

Diane | 718 comments Oh, my birth month is April

message 84: by Jessica (last edited Oct 11, 2024 01:17AM) (new)

Jessica S | 458 comments Birth month is March, birth year is 1991. Home town is Cheltenham, England but you won't find any books set there.

I agree with Diane, Moon, Wolf, Beach, Past, black or blue cover.

Vehicle, I agree motorcycle.

Enemies to lovers is my favourite trope, but happy with any.

Item on this cover: Tree is doable but I think cityscape/tall building, sword or hockey stick depending on what everyone's into.

Jessica S | 458 comments As both K.J Charles and Josh Lanyon are not available on KU, I am adding some popular authors who are, and are on everyone's TBR.

Please vote for a first, second and third choice. I will only vote if there's a tie.

1. K.J. Charles
2. Josh Lanyon
3. Kai Butler
4. Lily Morton
5. N R Walker

Skye Blue ☆*~゚ლ(´ڡ`ლ)~*☆ (surendraskye) | 656 comments Sorry, I'm trying to catch up today. I don't know where to start.

The Best of Gay Romance 3512 books

🌟58. Read 6 books published in the year one of the teammates joined RRRC, teams decide which teammate

Gotta give that thought. Wouldn't want to chose a book not on KU unless it's already owned by someone. A lot of my favs are not on KU.

Skye Blue ☆*~゚ლ(´ڡ`ლ)~*☆ (surendraskye) | 656 comments I love the Cop/Detective suggestion.

My only author that I would add to suggestions is Alice Winters. I've been reading a lot of those.

message 88: by Diane (last edited Oct 11, 2024 08:19AM) (new)

Diane | 718 comments For authors, I would vote:

1. Lily Morton
2. NR Walker
3. Josh Lanyon

Honestly, though no really strong feelings, I like them all. Alice Winters is another one that would be easy to find a book, and AJ Sherwood is another I really like.

My birth year is 1963, if you want to add it to the sum.

I am thinking of 5 favourite books too. Not an easy choice -- so many to choose from.
