Zoomed through my re-read... Started before work, and finished shortly into my shift...

Another enjoyable tomp, similar to boom 1, but distinct, too... MC isn't quite the same after how book 1 ended...

Forgot most of the main details, so I didn't feel like I knew everything that was going to happen, but felt familiar when it did happen...

Decided to try eyereading this and am LOVING it, even more than audio on #1... Through Chapter 15 (view spoiler)[Took a bit to get a handle on the title. If the MC's on a planet in a civvy security job, why is it called Spaceside? Well, because he found evidence that the hybrids and Cappans made their way off Planetside, and are now bouncing around who-knows-where in space.

Except he does know where. They've come to find him. Really looking forward to finding out why.

I feel bad for the one guy at Omicron, the MC's first contact. G-something. I like Ganos too, and really hope she survives the series... I even like the police detective, Mallory. The other one's an ass though--some bee in his bonnet more than just playing bad-cop.

Sitting here with popcorn, reading all your comments... don't have much to say, tho :D (this is a summary response to all the comments you posted around this time, while I was out walking laps)

LOL That's one way to blanket-respond to comments... I hope it was good popcorn, like Smartfood white-cheddar popcorn. So excited that it's at Costco right now. I stocked up.

Finished! This was a blast. (view spoiler)[Right turn came pretty much when I thought it would. The Cappan's perspective on everything is interesting--how willing they are to work with whomever they need to to get results. I'm not entirely clear on what they are getting from these arrangements though--what do they get from the genetics etc research? Besides aid for their people and planet? Seems like all the science-stuff is needed for the humans--ortho-robotics integration, hybrid stabilization... nothing medical for the Cappans. Just a war-torn world... that the scientists escaped from. Next book, Colonyside.

I would've liked to see Plazza release her article, and the look on Omicron's CEO's face... or see her eat it. Also would like to know how Ganos fares... and her yappy dog. I'm guessing Tanaka died... they didn't show him back up Spaceside with the wounded like Murta... and I guess he did have a hole in him... shame. Seemed like a good kid. (hide spoiler)]
