Started... this won the BR lottery, after I finished Waste Lands... needed something pre-downloaded for this week, since I'm about to do some shopping...

At this point, you guys should know what to expect from this tangled story... altho, I think this time around we start to see things building towards the finale... many of the chess pieces should be set for the final confrontations, by the end...

OK... finally... some movement on the meta plot by 50% here... all the stuff with (view spoiler)[how it feels like this stuff has happened before, previous Owls & Knights have tried to reach Wisdom's Grave, history is a circle, and Livia touching the evil between worlds when she used made up magic spells untrained and unprotected... (hide spoiler)]

Through Chapter 31--(view spoiler)[Lydia's use of witchcraft is poisoning her? I feel like I missed something important with that... or if her informant (was it Owl?) is lying. But it also makes me wonder if she would end up like the current "mother" witch allied with Fox... drinking up people's lives to sustain her own... And what Fox did to Hetti... grrrr!! I really don't like Owl (Nessa?) but I was definitely cheering for her when it came for the confrontation with Fox. Schaefer did a good job creating those conflicting emotions. And now Livia is facing a coup and assassination in the Church... which way will Amadeo fall... Glad we're getting more on her like @Iain said, after being sidelined last book...

Marie's connection to Owl/Nessa is disturbing--how she just disemboweled that man after Owl's logic. And then falling in love with her... at least Nessa has some feelings back. But I'd rather see her gone entirely.

Renatta's the easiest to cheer for. Felix also I suppose, but I'm more engaged with Renatta's storyline.

I read this today and I enjoyed it way more than the last one! Things are definitely set up for the finale in the next one. (view spoiler)[I was glad Livia finally stood up for herself, even though I am not a huge fan of Nessa I like the position Marie is in with her, Felix being assertive (about time) and Renatta's story was my favorite. Looking forward to seeing how it all plays out! (hide spoiler)]

Finished and don't have too many more thoughts on the ending--was already pretty close last post! Agree with Ann-Maire. Excited for the ending.
