Yz the Whyz (whyz) | 9327 comments This is the thread where we ask questions, discuss, and make suggestions for the challenge.

1. December: Read a book which title starts with "D"

2. Birthday: Read a book from a December B-day celebrant.

3. Geography: Read a book whose author, setting or character is from Ohio.

4. "Winter" Words: Read a book that has a "winter" word it its title (winter, frost, cold, ice, snow, etc).

5. Christmas Theme: Read a book that has a "Christmas" word in its title (mistletoe, christmas, holiday, santa, reindeer, etc) or has a Christmas theme cover.

6. International Children's Day: Read a book that has a prominent child character.

7. May/December Affair: Read a book that features a relationship where there is a considerable "age" difference between the pair.

8. Challenge Holiday Gift: Read a book that you need for another challenge. Be sure to say for which challenge.

9. Explore-a-genre: Read a "category" or "serial" romance. (Ex. Mills & Boon, Harlequin, Candlelight, etc)

10. Reader's Choice or if you joined the Pick-It-Form Me Challenge, your recommended book.

FlibBityFLooB Found a website that lists romance authors from Ohio... .
List includes Jennifer Crusie.

FlibBityFLooB Also, I found this website when looking for May/December romances:

Hehe. Yz, I love finding books to meet challenges. Half the fun of the challenge is putting together the puzzles of how you will meet the challenge :)

Lotte_ladybird I have a stupid question.. What exactly does "Readers Choice" in number 10 mean? Thanks in advance :)

message 9: by Kasia (new)

Kasia It means you reads whatever you want, anything really. It means you choose for yourself, simple as that.

ஐ Katya (Book Queen)ஐ (katyabookqueen) It's a free category Lotte, meaning any book you read that isn't already listed can be counted. It's great to fit in something you want to read that doesn't fit other categories.

message 11: by Lotte_ladybird (new)

Lotte_ladybird Thanks a lot Briansgirl and Kasia. I figured it would be something like that :) Now the big question is what to pick :)

Wendy (wendyfraser65) | 772 comments Valorie asked in her list whether vampires count for may/dec? I'm wondering too. Esp. as I really don't like these sort of romances (older guy/younger woman or vice versa)

message 13: by Yz the Whyz, Moderator (new)

Yz the Whyz (whyz) | 9327 comments Hmm...I guess that would count...after all being older by a couple of centuries is very much a May/Dec affair :)

message 14: by Wendy (new)

Wendy (wendyfraser65) | 772 comments yay, thanks Yz.

ஐ Katya (Book Queen)ஐ (katyabookqueen) Hey, if vampires will work for May/Dec, I can combine a book onto two challenge lists now and save me reading an extra book. lol I have a really old Gothic vampire novel from 1969 that I need to read for my Read my Lifetime in books challenge (Secret of the Pale Lover). I am using it as a Read the Month Dec book for R (author: Clarissa Ross). Now I can use it for Dec monthly challenge May/Dec romance as it's about a woman who falls in love with someone who just happens to be a vampire.

Renee | 231 comments count me in (Yea I'm still trying to navigate my way around so I'm a little slow) I'll try to have my list posted in a day or so.

message 18: by Kasia (new)

Kasia Take your time, there's no hurry ;)

message 19: by Wendy (new)

Wendy (wendyfraser65) | 772 comments So ladies, I have just finished City of Glass (fantastic!) and in it a couple of the (important) secondary characters may fit into the may/dec romance catagory... 800yr old warlock and 18yr old shadowhunter. Would this fit the bill or do the characters have to be the main ones???

message 20: by Kasia (new)

Kasia It would have been better if they were the main ones, but I think this would do. Yup.

message 21: by Mel W (new)

Mel W (melw) | 981 comments Works for me too :)
