Yesterday I brought "divergent" by Veronica Roth. It's got awesome reviews (average 4.5 stars on GR, so I'm excited to start)

message 559: by [deleted user] (new)

so hit up the bookfest again..this time for some much needed cheering up for my friend...cause I'm an awesome friend I bought her some books too :D
so I got:
Nemesis by Philip Roth Thirteen Years Later (The Danilov Quintet, #2) by Jasper Kent Thunder God by Paul Watkins They Is Us by Tama Janowitz The Shadow in the North (Sally Lockhart, #2) by Philip Pullman and because the cover was so bright but it hasn't been added to GR Candy Pop and The Tao of Pooh and Te of Piglet (Wisdom of Pooh) by Benjamin Hoff

It's an amazing italian epic poem, he did two more about Purgatorio & Paradiso. He called the collection The Divine Comedy but I always found Inferno to be his best and the most exciting.

Monya (monyamary) Brenda wrote: "Nice, Knowledge! Dante's Inferno is in a different language?"

Knowledge and Brenda - read and drool! Well, I drooled. One of my daughters-in-law has 18th century copies of all Dante's works, three or four volumes, can't remember how many exactly. Big, bigger than A4 size, pages in excellent condition, red and gold leather binding, written in Italian. (Or maybe Latin? Languages aren't my suit.)

I only saw them once. They came down through her family and will pass on to her eldest son. Drooool...

Monya (aka Mary)

I'm reading Nineteen Minutes. It's okay. Not as gripping as We Need To Talk About Kevin and there are glaring cliches. But it's holding my interest.

Michael, I don't know if you already own these two books, but I just ordered them from Fishpond (free delivery) and noticed they're on your TBR list Alone #1 DD Warren, and Hide #2 DD Warren. Just click on the 'Over 50% off' link, and scroll through, or do a search, that would be quicker....:)
