I can't wait to start them!:)

I read a little of both when I first got the books. Only reason I hadn't read them yet, especial QoS, is that I saw they were making the rounds as BOMs.

And...with Song of Scarabaeus...I figured March would have a lot of challenges with a "read a green cover" criteria. ;-)

And Song of Scarabaeus on my Cover Hunt Mini--you know I try not to overlap the little 3 books challenges if at all possible. :) Which is weird, since I love to cross challenge, but I never said I wasn't weird. :)

Dana (erato) | 922 comments Yeah, it's March! I was all excited to 'get reading' on this challenge and swung by and grabbed one of my books from the library yesterday. So this morning I went to grab my book...and it's gone!
My daughter has ferreted it away into her room to read it herself! Brat! She's read The Host (The Host, #1) by Stephenie Meyer like three times already and I never have. *pouts*

All those years you are raising your kids you are lavished with praise when you raise a child that loves to read. This is one drawback no one warns you of. First she steals my clothes...now my books. At least she has good taste! ;P

message 38: by Judithe, Soap Operas never end.... (new)

Judithe | 6566 comments I remember doing that, too....LOL! You DID steal it back, didn't you?

message 40: by Dana (new)

Dana (erato) | 922 comments Argh! I'm such a sucker. No, I didn't steal it back. (I made her do the dishes instead! hehe)

Then I told her she had to return it by high noon tomorrow...(whistling, foreboding, western music floats through the air)...or she was my dish slave for the whole week.

Look at all the extra time I have to read something else while she does my dishes...mwhu-ha-ha-ha!

Dana (erato) | 922 comments Vivian wrote: "LMAO. Parents can be so devious :)"

Ha-Ha! I am a parent of epic deviousness!

This is only because I was such a prodigy as a teen. If back-assward logic, shnarky and pithy comments, and contrary behavior were Olympic events, I would have been the reigning gold medalist for years! (I was a good kid, just a verbal nightmare. ;P )

And I didn't read with the time anyway...I was nice and baked a chess pie for the family. :) My kids go ga-ga for chess pie.

message 47: by Dana (new)

Dana (erato) | 922 comments Funny, after I walked away from my puter, I realized many people probably haven't heard of it.

It is tasty stuff that's what! :) It is also called Southern Buttermilk Pie. It is super easy and takes barely any ingredients. It is a single shell pie that tastes a bit like a cross between a vanilla custard and a lemon bar, both in texture and flavor. I usually up the lemon juice from standard recipies and sift pdr sugar over it and my kids call it Lemon Bar Pie.

Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ Cullinary Moment of the Day, brought to you by...Dana :)

Seriously...it sounds like something I could get ingredients for here...and there's even a spot for it on SOS in Off Topic Ramblings @ Got a favorite recipe?
