When a book I am reading does not have a cover, I upload it to GR and use the librarian thread on SRC to get it attached to the right ISBN. And, yes, my copy does show a door.

A)Lola and the Boy Next DOOR - option 1
E)Crank (in the description it mentions a monster) - option 5
F)Labyrinth of Terror (one of the main characters is a microbiology professor) - option 2
Backup book:
D) Midnight Kiss - option 2

That would be a great choice for B.

It is really hard to see - I looked at images on GR and Amazon and still couldn't see the door, so it doesn't really work for A. This would be a good choice for F because of Jekyll and Hyde, though.

Your choices for A, F, and D will be fine. In reading the descriptions of [book:Crank, I didn't get the sense that the monster (the drug) was actually a character with its own thoughts or actions, so I can't accept it for E. That sounds like a powerful book, though. I've added it to my TBR.

Thanks!

Your choices sound fine. The Stephanie Plum books are hilarious!

Oh, this is a tough one. I have a copy of this book, and I looked at it and at the GR description. It doesn't seem to me that the doctors in this book are also scientists - yes, of course they're practicing medicine, but they're not doing research or carrying out experiments or formulating theories or making new discoveries - activities that I associate with scientists. So I'm going to have to say no to this one for F. Sorry!
If you still want to read it, and you haven't done 5.7 African Safari yet, it will fit there.

The door is along the left side
and

an open - air door?
Thanks and great task! I have lots of possibilities.

I think most of it takes place at Hogwarts, which is a haunted castle, even though the book opens on Privet Drive and has some scenes at the Ministry of Magic

---- can I just include the Wiki page???
Thanks--- Kathy

Butterflycager, the cover is now posted.

Archaeologists will be fine for F.

It's small but easy to identify - fine for A.

Thanks! That will be fine for A.

I'll take any of the first six books in the Harry Potter series for H, because so much of the action in those stories does occur at Hogwarts. But Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows takes place in so many different locations that it really doesn't fit for H.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix will work for H since so much of it takes place at Hogwarts.

Either of those would work for A. The Forgotten Garden is so good. Big book, but worth the effort.

Great thanks!!

Thanks

Thanks"
Kathy, if you click on the author's name on GR and look down the page to where some of the author's books are listed...you will see in small print, just above the list, how many distinct works the author has penned.

Unfortunately, if you look at the lists (and I checked this using an author with fewer books than Agatha Christie!), this number of "distinct works" includes collections of books that were already listed separately, as well as short story collections that include one story by that author. So, this doesn't really tell you how many books an author has written.

Bummer!

For a collection/anthology, would you take a trade paperback graphic novel, which is collected from individually-printed comics, each with the same author? I've got a few I need to fit in, would love to try to squeeze one or two into this task.

Since it appears that a main character is infected (and therefore a monster), I'll take it.

Would you mind posting a link to the book in question? Thanks!

Sure! I was thinking about something like Locke & Key, Volume 1: Welcome to Lovecraft, which collects the first six issues of the comic book series, all written by the same author. (Don't know that I'd use this particular volume, I think I have another place for it. But I might use a later one in the series.)

I'll accept it. I didn't realize that Joe Hill wrote graphic novels - this looks really good!

I don't get the sense from the description of this book that the person who is turned into a frog is really a central character in the story, and so it doesn't fit for E. Sorry!

A. The Creaky Front Door - read a book with a door on the front cover.

2. Author is one you've never read before.
D. Secret Passageway Behind the Library - read a collection of short stories with multiple authors.

4. Book is 561 pages long
F. Mad Scientist's Laboratory in the Basement - read a book in which a scientist is a central character (And they are "mad" too.).

2. Author is one you've never read before.
and 1.Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ author.
I hope these meet the rule criteria!

A. The Creaky Front Door - read a book with a door on the front cover.

Those all sound great. Enjoy!
