It will work if there is a "monster" who is also a central character. I can't tell from the synopsis who that would be, and I haven't read this book. Can you give me an example of a character who fits the definition? Thanks!

It sounds like these scientists are central characters, so that should work fine.

Sure- I'll try to do this without spoilers that aren't already in the book descriptions. Having only read the first one, I think that in the second one, Lord Asriel will be an evil character as he tries to rule over the make believe world himself. He is trying to control a thing called Dust and our heroine is trying to stop him. His acts include separating children from their daemon's (souls) which results in torture for the kids and sometimes dealth. Hope this helps.

Sounds like a monster to me. That should work fine for E.

Yes, this will work for E. Sounds like a good book - I added it to my TBR.

Seakbee | 185 comments Before I get too far along, I would like to find out if these work:

Can You Keep a Secret? Can You Keep a Secret? by Sophie Kinsella for category A. (This is similar to another cover that was already approved.)

and

Cake Wrecks Cake Wrecks When Professional Cakes Go Hilariously Wrong by Jen Yates for category B.

KSMary | 1131 comments Does the name of the spider have to appear together in the title or can it be separate like in India Black and the Widow of Windsor (Black Widow spider)?

message 113: by Stacie (new)

Stacie (shorty_320) | 1335 comments I just finished reading Anya's Ghost and I think it might work perfectly for option E, but I want to make sure. It is revealed in the story that the ghost who is haunting Anya (and the ghost really is a central character) is that of a murderer.

Thoughts?

Can You Keep a Secret? will be fine for A, and Cake Wrecks: When Professional Cakes Go Hilariously Wrong will work for B. Both are very funny books - enjoy!

Sorry, but the name needs to be all together in the title.

Since this murderer who haunts Anya is a central character, I'll accept it for E.

the works number on the author page on Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ? Is that good enough?

You can use that, the author's website or Wikipedia page, or your own count - just as long as you can demonstrate that the author has published more than ten books.
