Many December holidays are themed around GIFT giving and HOT candle light. In the Northern Hemisphere December has the shortest amount of daylight, making it the DARKest month. At the end of the month most people celebrate New Years Eve with a DRINK/toast. December's birthstone is the BLUE turquoise or zircon. A little known fact is that I am getting married this month so let’s add in a little WEDDING to the mix

It doesn't need to be a "wrapped gift", however the I would say "gift" from the characters point of view. If they are describing a picture of a pair of shoes they (or you) want, I wold say no. But if it is a picture of slippers in a "gift" catalog, I could see that. Or if they mention the item in the picture would make a good gift, that would work.
A gift could also be a notable capacity, talent, or endowment.

Yeah, not so convinced it is a better letter. This month ought to be a bit of a challenge. Thank you Rocky Mountain PBS for airing the I-6 episode on such a critical day.
That's right folks the letter for the month brought to us by my furry lil' friends on today's episode of Sesame Street is the letter "I".
Good luck to us all, we are going to need it!

OK - I should be able to get Book, Author, and Cover at least. The rest will be anybody's guess!

I think I will be an easier letter, we'll see. Now, I've just got to finish something...

On post 10, item 11 and 12. Are they ok?"
Looks good to me. You are off to a great start!

That is fine.
I will try to get points updated this weekend. I would have thought after the wedding life would have gone back to normal, but no. There seems to be something new going on everyday that is eating in to my reading and computer time.

If you all could please put the date you completed the item it would help to let me know if you are done or if it just on the list to be done. ~Thanks

I guess I just had the right books scheduled for December reading.

Don't forget you can still up your points if you can find double point answers to replace any of those.

I think to include it to get extra points yes, but not to replace the title.
ie: The Iron Duke (Iron Seas) would be two points because it starts with an "I" and has a second "I" in the title/series.
Kiss of a Demon king (Imortals After Dark) would not work because the actual title doesn't start with an "I".
Make sense?

The general rules of Scattergories are you are given a list of categories and a time limit. Then the letter dice is rolled and you have to come up with something that matches your letter and the category.
This “Challenge works in conjunction with the other challenges you may participate in this month. You may use a book to fulfill multiple items (you don't have to read 12 books this month...don't worry!) While you are fulfilling the requirements of your other challenges, be on the lookout for the following items (they may be on the cover or mentioned in the book):
The Challenge: I will post a list of 12 categories, 6 general relating to any book, and 6 specific to that month. On the last day of the month before, I will post the letter of the month. You can start reading on the 1st. The goal is to get as many points as possible by the end of the month.
Duration: December 1st to December 31st
Rules:
1.Any genre of books will work
2.Ebooks and audio count
3.You can read in any order
4.Rereads are ok but if you really reread the book
Points: You get one point for each category you can tie to a book, where the first letter begins with the letter of the month. You get double points for each time the letter of the month is used to begin a word (ex. for author if the letter was C, Cassandra Claire would be 2 points). We will not be deducting points for duplicate answers like the original game version does.
Special categories are open for interpretation. As long as it is mentioned in the book and you can justify how it fits, it will work.
When you find one of the items list the Book Title and Author (or link the cover), date it, and specify where the item is found within the book.
Just like the regular game we will not use the letters Q, U, V, X, Y and Z.
Let me know if you have any questions.
