Seeing as we will probably all be reading more Aussie authors than the Aussie Author 2012 challenge will allow (I know I will be anyway!), I thought it would be great to have somewhere to list each Aussie author as we read it....this will include the challenge ones as well.

So, as you finish an Aussie author read, list it in here, with a review if you want, and that will help many of us find new authors we haven't read before!

Did you enjoy The High Commissioner Zuzu?

Hi Zuzu, I love Jon Cleary's books. His characters are so real and down to earth. I was really sad when he died.

Thanks Mish...yes I was very disappointed, and it was a difficult review to write...it was either no review, or an honest one!

message 32: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne (suzannesbookshelf) For anyone looking for more Aussie authors I have just finished "The Exotic Rissole" by Tanveer Ahmed. If you like Ahn Do's "The Luckiest Refugee" you may enjoy this book. Also another Aussie author I read a year or so ago was Caroline Overington's "Only In New York: How I Took Manhattan (with the kids). This is a memoir as well.
Good luck to all the readers.
Suzanne

The Exotic Rissole: A Memoir
Only In New York: How I Took Manhattan

Thanks Suzanne...I didn't know about that one from Caroline Overington:)

message 34: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne (suzannesbookshelf) It's an enjoyable read. Do you like memoirs? It's quite a lighthearted read.

I really enjoyed it. I was reading bits of it to my husband and he even was saying tell me more and he's not into books much. I love anything on New York that's a memoir.

It's been around a few years I think.

message 35: by Suzanne (new)

I'll take a look at that book Mish. I'm off to the library this morning in my 2012 plan to read books on the "books to read" list I have! The weather is dismal in Sydney so it's a good day to have a good book.
