That part actually doesn't bother me as much as I thought it would from hearing other people talk about it. I think because it's told in fairly clinical/medical terms, maybe? Although I did gasp out loud a few times, and I can only imagine the look on my face at a few points. It's the emotional stuff that's getting to me. He had a horrible childhood, ended up addicted to drugs and alcohol, and now wondering how his life will be after his terrible accident. And then Marianne is there telling him these "romantic" stories of lovers dying in each others arms and equally uplifting tales. Depressing.

Regina (reginar) | 2883 comments Oh, then stick with it. I can see where you are coming from, but she is there with a purpose. :) But definitely take a break! I took quite a few when I listened to this.

I think I see where it's ultimately going and that does make me want to finish it. I get the feeling it's going to be one of those poignant happy-but-not-totally-happy endings. And I really do need to see just what happens to these people. I'm too emotionally invested to give up now.

Sandra | 25889 comments Finished Fair Game (Alpha & Omega #3) by Patricia Briggs today and it was terrific!!!

message 307: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) | 2883 comments It is the best in the series. Briggs keeps raising the bar and impressing me more with every book. Lots Bran and Charles. Perfect!

message 308: by Gin (new)

Gin | 99 comments Sandra wrote: "Finished Fair Game (Alpha & Omega #3) by Patricia Briggs today and it was terrific!!!"

I still want to read that one. I may have to reread the others first as it has been so long since I've read them.

message 309: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25889 comments Regina, yep, I gave it 5 stars and its a series well worth a re-read Gin. I think I re-read it a couple of months ago but I don't think you really NEED to, it'll all come back to you pretty quick.

And I liked seeing lots of Bran, and Anna has matured nicely :)

message 310: by Gin (new)

Gin | 99 comments Maybe I'll just dive right in then......if I keep rereading books, I'm never gonna get anywhere!

message 311: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 1179 comments I finished Fantasy Lover (Dark-Hunter, #0) by Sherrilyn Kenyon and Immortal Desires (a Well of Souls novel) by Laura Eno if anybody is a fan of KMM's Highlanders you should read Immortal Desires! Now I'm working on Behind the Throne (Morgan Crowe Trilogy, #2) by Maggie Berkley and Caressed by Moonlight (Rulers of Darkness, #1) by Amanda J. Greene while I wait for Sacrificial Magic (Downside Ghosts, #4) by Stacia Kane to come out tomorrow!

message 312: by Christine (new)

Christine | 850 comments I finally finished The Gargoyle by Andrew Davidson and I am so happy I stuck with it. It wasn't an easy read at times, but it was well worth it. I just loved it by the end.

I also finished Cinder Cinder (Lunar Chronicles, #1) by Marissa Meyer . It was just okay for me. I would have liked it more if there had been a bit more explained in the story. It did pick up right at the end, so I will read the next. If you don't like cliff-hangers, I wouldn't read this on until the next in the series it out.

And I just started Married With Zombies (Living with the Dead, #1) by Jesse Petersen but I'm not sure if I'm really in the mood for this book right now. We'll see..

message 313: by Paris (new)

Paris (pah13) | 1183 comments Finished Horizon (Aftertime, #3) by Sophie Littlefield and Shadow Heir (Dark Swan, #4) by Richelle Mead , which were the final books in two series that I loved (especially Horizon, the Aftertime trilogy is one of my all time favorites).

Moving on to more of the Lords of Underworld series The Darkest Whisper (Lords of the Underworld, #4) by Gena Showalter , which I like, but I'm finding myself a little bored with the formula that each book has followed as far as the romance is concerned. The parts about the search for Pandora's box are super intriguing, so I find myself kinda wishing for more of that, then the actual romance. Also reading some YA The Nightmare Garden (Iron Codex, #2) by Caitlin Kittredge .

Sandra | 25889 comments Paris, I enjoy LotU but I need to space them out for that very reason.

Back to Dragon Heat (Dragon, #1) by Allyson James with the cheesy cover.

Valerie ~ Val Hall ~ | 9656 comments Cheesy cover aside...is it any good? I figured that I need to read a few dragon books for the reading challenge...

message 316: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (last edited Mar 26, 2012 04:31PM) (new)

Sandra | 25889 comments Well, I'm on pg 58 and I'd say a light read with some interesting elements. At this point it is shaping up for 3 stars.

ETA: Oh, and it flows easily and is written well - Allyson James is Jennifer Ashley after all.

I thought about spacing them out, but I want to get to Paris' story (he's my favorite, even though it's a tad weird with the whole name thing. lol), although I've read mixed reviews about it, so I'm not sure if I really should hurry.

message 318: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25889 comments Oh, I never thought of the Paris name thing, of course! *splaps side of head*

I try not to read too much about books I'm looking forward to. And I am looking forward to that one. I've still got a couple of books to go in the series before I get there though, no rush for me.

message 319: by Cris (new)

Cris S. (bleunween) | 26 comments Got a lot of time this past week so I tried Demonica series and loved it! Finished it and the Lords of Deliverance.

Just finished Falling Under (Falling Under, #1) by Gwen Hayes which I enjoyed, although there are many bad reviews.

Now I don't know what to read :D

Oh, and I got the audiobook addiction back :S

I hope to finish at least a couple of them by the end of the month! I'm getting twitchy reading so many books.

I totally know the feeling. Trying to juggle is kinda driving me crazy, but I can't stop myself. There are so many books I am wanting to read.

Everyone should have a copy of that last one on medical health for reference and entertainment. I gave it 5 stars.

message 331: by D.G. (new)

D.G. | 2752 comments I finished 3 of them, Paris so I'm so so twitchy! One of them was Pandemonium and hated that trite ending. It was so freaking predictable and taking the series in such a stupid path.

Now I started The Famous Heroine (Dark Angel, #3) by Mary Balogh , and old book by Mary Balogh. This should fit my request of HR with no suspense.

Good job. I'm jealous. I haven't even been able to finish one in the last 3 days cause I keep getting distracted by other shiny books. The ability to send sample chapters of books to my Kindle is a blessing and a curse.

I liked it. It was inetresting. Some of the reviews I've seen stated it was not as good as Firelight.

He does have trustworthy demeanor. I can't watch Supersize Vs Superskinny. All that flab and the pronounced ribcages. It's a shame those overweight can't donate their fat to the underweights, I'd be first on the donor list!

My hubby loves watching Embarrassing Bodies. LOL.

message 340: by Josie (new)

Josie | 1967 comments Lol it's a good one, as long as you're not eating at the same time! Gah, I couldn't watch the one with anal prolapses although I do like how if people do have these problems then they can see that there are cures for them and to just go to your doctor!!

message 341: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25889 comments Well it's on here at about 10.30pm so I guess most people wouldn't be eating dinner. LOL. But I do agree that health info never hurts.

message 342: by Josie (new)

Josie | 1967 comments Lol, that's ok then ;)

So I've just finished Play of Passion (Psy-Changeling, #9) by Nalini Singh and I'm so desperate to read Kiss of Snow (Psy-Changeling, #10) by Nalini Singh , the ONE I've been most excited for... but then it'll be over :/
So what do I do? Tangle is so far away, should I wait?

message 343: by D.G. (new)

message 346: by Josie (new)

Josie | 1967 comments You temptress!! I should've known better than to ask you lot lol ;)

When I was reading PoP, I was intrigued by Cooper and his mating. He doesn't have his own short does he? Do you thing Nalini Singh will ever write it?

message 347: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25889 comments I'm pretty sure Cooper doesn't have a short yet.

If you write and request one, she might. She's pretty good about responding to fans. Over on the NS group a couple of the regulars are always commenting on what she's written back to them about Qs they've asked.

The more encouragement she gets the more she might think about writing it.

message 348: by Josie (new)

Josie | 1967 comments Lol, I'm just greedy, wanting to know everyone's story ;)

So far, she's had a short on Annie & Zach, Tamsin & Nate and Emmett & Ria (haven't read that one yet). Is that all of them? I wonder who she's planning on next...
