Misfit | 198 comments My reading paths are always off in another direction so I'm not listing what I plan to read, only what I have read that is owned.

The Sea of Love
by Sorcha MacMurrough
And One Wore Gray by Heather Graham
Silver Storm by Cynthia Wright

That sounds rather pitiful, but the rest of my 2012 reads (25 so far!) are library or ARC's.

You're gonna have to resist some of those Kindle freebies this year! :)

You are kidding, right?

message 4: by [deleted user] (new)

I forget how fast you read! *forgive me*

message 5: by Misfit (new)

Misfit | 198 comments Nothing to forgive, I was poking fun at myself because I'm still buying freebies :p

message 6: by [deleted user] (new)

I was speaking tongue-in-cheek, too. :) I've been collecting freebies this week on a book blog giveaway.

message 7: by Christine (new)

Christine (chrisarrow) Wait, we'll suppose to resist kindle freebies? Since when? It's like Christmas, almost every day.

message 8: by Misfit (new)

Misfit | 198 comments I know. I've picked up at least three today :p

message 9: by [deleted user] (new)

Hey, isn't this a challenge to read books you already own? That's why you gotta resist those freebies! But, I suppose they don't gather dust, and they are free.....

message 10: by Misfit (new)

Misfit | 198 comments They definitely don't gather dust, plus most of them are rather shorter than my usual books so come in handy during end of year crunch time :p

message 11: by Jemidar (last edited Feb 15, 2012 04:40PM) (new)

Jemidar | 358 comments Plus if you keep them long enough they'll qualify for next year's Mt TBR Challenge ;-D.

My thoughts exactly.

Does Angelique marry the King? ;)

message 16: by Misfit (last edited Feb 23, 2012 07:09AM) (new)

Misfit | 198 comments Considering he already had a queen I would say not :p

message 17: by [deleted user] (new)

hahaha! That would make it difficult......

message 18: by Misfit (new)

Misfit | 198 comments Yes it would.

message 19: by Misfit (last edited Feb 28, 2012 06:00PM) (new)

Misfit | 198 comments 6. The Salamanca Drum by Dorothy Eden.

Too funny - I'm sure that you'll have no problem meeting your challenge so long as you keep away from the "new" stuff.

message 22: by Misfit (new)

Misfit | 198 comments That is my problem in a nutshell :/

message 23: by Sera (new)

Sera I believe that it's most of our problems, which is why we have to create these personal challenges in the first place - ha ha. I figure that I can still tight until my library sale this spring, which is when I'll have a problem. I can't resist paying $1 a hardback or 50 cents a paperback. Plus, the money goes for a good cause, right?

message 24: by Misfit (new)

Misfit | 198 comments Oooh, I love FOL sales. Never know what you'll find.

I'm seriously in trouble now. I have four books from Amazon that need to be at the top of the pile. Four don't count ARCs. Argh!

That girl certainly got around, didn't she!

message 27: by Misfit (new)

Misfit | 198 comments Yes she does. I'm just starting the next book and we're setting sail for the new world. Woohoo.

message 29: by Misfit (new)

Misfit | 198 comments *hangs head in shame*

Getting lots of reading in, but none of them qualify. Argh.

You'll get there!

message 31: by Misfit (new)

Misfit | 198 comments *hangs head in shame*

I accepted three ARCs last week that I just had to have and read NOW.

message 32: by Jemidar (new)

Jemidar | 358 comments And who was it that very recently set up a buddy read on a book I just bought and therefore not part of my Mt TBR? Hmmmm???

Me? My copy of said book doesn't count towards the challenge either, it was an ARC.

Bev | 214 comments Mod
Glad to see your Checkpoint post. Those ARCs do get in the way sometimes...(and the library...and the books I just bought this past weekend that are calling my name). Good start though!

message 36: by Jemidar (new)

Jemidar | 358 comments Yay! Double figures :-).

message 37: by Misfit (new)

Misfit | 198 comments Only 30 more, which would be no sweat if not for all the newer distractions :)

message 38: by Misfit (new)

Misfit | 198 comments 11. Pride's Castle by Frank Yerby

message 39: by Misfit (new)

Misfit | 198 comments 12. And One Rode West by Heather Graham. Gah, what a disappointing end to this trilogy. Most unlikeable heroine.

message 40: by Misfit (new)

Misfit | 198 comments 13. Moonstruck Madness by Laurie McBain.

message 41: by Dawn (& Ron) (new)

Dawn (& Ron) (furryreaders) | 456 comments Yay, I see a TBR made it in amongst all those newer distractions!

message 42: by Misfit (new)

Misfit | 198 comments It's killing me, but I'm trying :p

message 44: by Dawn (& Ron) (new)

Dawn (& Ron) (furryreaders) | 456 comments See, you do have the power to overcome those pesky new distractions, good for you!

message 45: by Misfit (new)

Misfit | 198 comments Just you wait, it won't take long after today's stint at the thrift stores :D

message 46: by Dawn (& Ron) (new)

Dawn (& Ron) (furryreaders) | 456 comments I just read about your little thrift store ventures. Does that mean we will be seeing a slew of books added to your reading list and coming up in the feeds? Any great discoveries?

message 47: by Misfit (new)

Misfit | 198 comments Ah, if it wasn't bit this damned challenge Bev's lovely challenge, that might be possible, but who knows?

message 49: by Misfit (new)

Misfit | 198 comments 16. Passion's Trail by Elizabeth Fritch. First in a California based trilogy.

message 50: by Jemidar (new)

Jemidar | 358 comments Go Misfit :-).
