May Challenge - Reduce your TBR list!

You can buy as many new books as you like Norain, but yes, you must reduce your TBR list for the challenge. The thing is, it doesn't start until May 1st, so you have time to add more to your TBR list if you want, before it starts;D

I've already read 70+ books/mangas this year and I still have 1000+ books in my TBR list. Thank goodness for this challenge.
Great news Maggie and Mickey!!! We should have this challenge every month maybe, as Knowledge suggested earlier in the thread!

May 1
1. The Merzetti Effect
2. Honeycomb Kids
3. Heart of the Valley
4. Mary Bennet
5. Love and Hunger
6. Ridiculous: The Mindful Nonsense of Ricky's Brain
7. Dinner at Rose's
8. Lucinda's Whirlwind
9. On Haunted Ground: The Green Ghost and Other Spirits of Cemetery Road
10. The Shell Keeper
11. The Cottage At Glass Beach
12.The Betrayal
13. Bare-Naked Lola
14. A Slot Machine Ate My Midlife Crisis
15. Jacaranda
16. Water's Edge
17.Once Upon A List
18. Wife 22: A Novel
19. Blackwattle Creek
20. Eleven Seasons
21. The Proper Care & Maintenance of Friendship
22. Come Out Tonight
23. Force of Nature. C.J. Box

I swore I wouldn't buy any new books while I was holidays but I saw a good deal (3 for the price of 2) and came home with 6 extra books. lol

I got 1 for 50 cents, one for 8 pounds then the 3 for 2 deal were 8 pounds each so really only paid $7 Australian dollars each for them.
Got the first 2 of the Hunger Games trilogy which I have been meaning to get for ages.

Oh Yes - Prior to joining Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ Norain I use to double up all the time. I don’t do it as often now because I can keep track of my books here
It sounds you’ve doubled up recently

I can explain. About 10 or so years ago, the main library in Memphis was making preparations for moving into a new building. In conjunction with that, during the construction, they began a purge of a HUGE collection from many years back of excess hardback and paperback books. The HB books were $1.00 each and later 50 cents each, and the PB books were 10 cents each. I began to stock up on reading material for my retirement years. Before I knew it I had well over 1,300 books (mostly paperbacks).
I was delighted to read this challenge the other day. It gave me the push I needed. I turned in 2 books today that I had checked out from the library and as soon as I finish the 3rd one I had, I will concentrate on my TBR list, especially during the May challenge.
Thanks again for the push. I needed it.

Did you get them from here Georgina?
There's a thread for this link...http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/8...
If not, where did you find them, if you don't mind me asking?

If you own a Kindle from Amazon, they have lots of books available for free. There is a link on the Kindle Store homepage, and there are Amazon 'lists' with best free. You can also search under genres by price, and get pages upon pages of freebies up first.
I can really recommend Amazon's customer service too. The battery on my first Kindle stopped holding its charge after 6 months, and they replaced it within 3 days of my calling them, despite the fact that I live in Australia!
And if you haven't made the (at least part-time) switch to Kindle, I can also recommend that, if solely for the fact that when you are reading on a cold winter Saturday morn, you don't have to roll over and let cold air into your blanket cocoon in order to reposition your book comfortably every time you turn the page. You just hit the next page button and stay snugly comfy :) Bliss.

Haha!! Thanks Kellyanne...I received a kindle for Christmas, and yes, I have managed a few free ones from Amazon and Smashwords, which I love:) I still read mostly paper books, and I have heaps to get through of my own, and still can't resist buying them as well ;P
But I wondered if there was a different place which Georgina had found..I recently came across this site which lists free ones, and I bookmarked it...
I do find the kindle great to read, it's light, and easy to 'turn' the pages, and as you say, you don't get a draught into the bedding....lol
Thanks for your response!

I stumbled onto them. Here's one (I love Zola!!--so melodramatic):
Then it lists below others in the classic free kindles. The formatting seems fine, the only drawback the lack of working TOC's.
(I'm not getting all my GR notifications, I'm just hoping I'm not missing replying to threads).

No, there are problems with the notifications at the moment...another bug. They're working on it...but if you just go to the AR group, you'll pick up any new posts that you're not getting notified about...that's what I've been doing.
Thanks for the link Georgina:)

Our blogs aren't updating either. Not that I'm complaining, I'm a lazy blogger. :)

If you guys head over to the group Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ Feedback http://www.goodreads.com/group/show/1... you can read about all the bugs and problems that are currently within GR, without having to become members of the group.
There are some major problems at the moment, which they are constantly working on....

I've recently borrowed 6 Agatha Christie books from one of my mum's friends so this challenge will give me even more of a reason to read them as soon as possible.
