Jayson’s Reviews > Jupiter's Legacy, Vol. 6 > Status Update

Jayson
Jayson is 55% done

Notes:
(1) Dividing these updates by artist seems like the way to go.
- As predicted, a massive downgrade in art with an unequivocal effect on the storytelling.
- Compared to Edwards, Matthew Dow Smith's art just doesn't seem as serious, or at least doesn't convey nearly as much gravitas.
(2) Another exposition-heavy issue. This time without the art to do the heavy lifting.

Jayson’s Previous Updates

Jayson
Jayson is finished

Notes:
(1) I don't know what to make of this art by Lee Carter.
- Characters are much better drawn than Matthew Dow Smith, but Carter uses either 3D models or filtered photographs as backgrounds.
- It's like experimental mixed-media art you'd see in the early 2000s, which didn't age well and looks awkward here.
(2) The grand finale ended up being one big muddled-up whimper.

Jayson is 35% done

Notes:
(1) We get some amazing art by Tommy Lee Edwards in these first two issues. Every page is cover quality.
- Though, I'd rather he stick to covers. Not just because I prefer miniseries in particular to have artistic consistency, but because the decline in quality is just so glaring.
- Nothing against the other two artists, but every issue not-Edwards is a huge letdown.

Jayson is starting

Notes:
(1) It's been a year since I last read this series, which ended on a cliffhanger.
- Thing is, the cliffhanger is the only part I actually remember.
- Skimming the last installment didn't help much, I'm essentially going into this one blind.
(2) Seems like Millar could only get two issues out of Tommy Lee Edwards this time around.
- That's half as many as last volume.
