Notes:
(1) You can usually tell when Jeff Lemire is the lead writer on a DC book. He almost always finds a way to shoehorn in Canada somehow.
- It's a level of specificity so esoteric and out of place that it sticks out like a sore thumb.
(2) You'd think, with a big event book, that DC would feature their big guns. But no, it's all a bunch of D-list heroes in the spotlight.

Notes:
(1) Having gone all the way from Vancouver to Montreal for no real reason, Emiko and Barda go all the way back to Vancouver.
- What kind of Canadian is Jeff Lemire to believe that fugitives can travel cross-country in the blink of an eye?
(2) Dr. Sook is, I'm assuming, named after Ryan Sook.
- The resemblance is debatable, but I think it's likely not meant to be him.

Notes:
(1) How did Big Barda and Emiko get from Vancouver to Montreal?
- I mean, this is storytelling 101. Literally, get me from point-A to point-B.
- Again, anything Canadian is Jeff Lemire's doing.
(2) We have several plot threads of teams/individuals trying figuring out what's going on... including me.
- I have the Wiki open and at the ready to make sense of everything.

Notes:
(1) Big Barda works in a Vancouver soup kitchen.
- Albeit Canadian, I don't think Jeff Lemire's spent much time in Vancouver.
- The negligible Catholic population is by and large limited to immigrant Filipinos, and so his Catholic-run soup kitchen feels inauthentic.
(2) Superman's the only A-lister involved in this story.
- I still have no idea why he wears a helmet.

Notes:
(1) There's this little girl character, her name's Fifty Sue.
- I can only assume her name's a combination of "The New 52" and "Mary Sue."
- I'm guessing she must be some kind of deity, or else a way-overpowered metahuman.
(2) This event must have been designed to bolster the profile of lesser-known characters.
- I can't say I've read any of these character's books.

Notes:
(1) Three issues in and I have no idea who the protagonist is supposed to be.
- You'd assume it's Terry McGinnis, but he's only been in it for a few scenes.
- For the most part, you follow alongside one or two heroes until they're infected, blow up or get vaporized.
(2) It's really driven home with the funeral scene just how much this is trying to emulate "Watchmen."

Notes:
(1) I'm finally reading "Futures End"!
- I've been warned against it. People said it will only end in pain and misery. I don't care.
- I cannot say that I finished DC's New 52, the bleakest, most joyless era in comics, without having read it's bleakest and most joyless event/series.
(2) Unlike usual miniseries-length events, this one's 48 issues long with 41 tie-ins!
