Award-winning writer Meryl Davids Landau is the author of the mindfulness/yoga women's novel Warrior Won, which was the Gold Medal winner in the Living Now Book Awards competition for Inspirational fiction. Warrior Won was also a finalist in both women's fiction and inspirational fiction in the American Book Fest Fiction Awards.

Foreword Reviews calls Warrior Won "spiritual fiction that is both compelling and fun." Midwest Book Review says it is "one of the strongest spiritual women's fiction pieces to appear in recent years."

Warrior Won is a stand-alone follow up to Meryl's prior novel Downward Dog, Upward Fog, named a fiction-book-of-the-year finalist by Foreword Reviews.

Hello Emilly:

My apologies for answering this question so long after you asked it. I never got an email notification from Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ.

To me, yoga wisdom is not about the yoga poses, although they can help facilitate wisdom. It is the philosophy the ancient yogis figured out, which is that becoming mindful of the moment you are in is the best way to experience life. Doing yoga poses in a way that keeps your attention inside your body--on where you're stretching, how your feet are pressing into the floor--and the like is one way to facilitate that, as is sitting or walking meditation. But it's really about bringing that mindset into your everyday life.

This can be challenging. And this challenge is the theme of my newest novel Warrior Won, which comes out mid-May. It's also the theme of my prior novel Downward Dog, Upward Fog; both novels feature the same woman, Lorna, trying to keep her inner peace despite difficult things going on in her life. Look for giveaways of the novel on Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ next month.

“There's something about yoga that makes it a spiritual experience, I'm realizing. It's opening me beyond myself. A good class seems like a dose of LSD--without the worry you'll find yourself jumping off a roof into a swimming pool.”

Tolle's work also plays a big role in my novel. Between that and the yoga, you are definitely destined to read it.
