It opens with Sheila wondering why Jasira is going to New York instead of DC, a worry which is exacerbated by Jarira's mention of 'a friend' named Irene who is helping her with an assignment.

This episode is important for several reasons.

First, it furthers Sheila's relationship with Jasira. They've only just met, and they've only spent one weekend together. So there's still a lot they don't know about one another.

Second, Sheila has questions about how she met Jasira in the first place. It's clear to her that their meeting was planned, but she wants to know the circumstances. Who set it up? Rima, or Jasira? How long did they plan this? Sheila goes to Rima with these questions and also confronts her on comments that were made at the dinner at Rima's house on Friday night.

Third, this is the first time readers of the series will meet Irene Daco, which means this is also your introduction to the point one percent world of THE AMERICAN FATHERS. This world is different from anything Sheila could imagine. I'm confident readers of the series will find it quite interesting. (less)

“Idealistic? Ruddy stupid, if you'll pardon the language, miss,: Mr Roberts said. "All this talk about power for the people and down with the ruling classes and everyone should govern themselves. I agree with you when it comes to full cast audio books. My first experience with that format was [bookcover:Hyperion|77566] Hyperion (Hyperion Cantos, #1) by Dan Simmons .

I'm a fan of that series, so I also listened to The Fall of Hyperion, which was not full cast. I think it would have been much better if it was, like book 1 in the series.

The invite was my pleasure. Thanks for accepting.

Nichole ~Bookaholic~ Thanks for the friend invite :-). I don't know that I know a lot about full cast narrations....just what I like and don't like....but personally I think full cast narrations are the best....the The Golden Compass (His Dark Materials, #1) by Philip Pullman series is the first full cast audio I listened to and loved it....if you find you like the full cast you should check out all of their audiobooks are full cast but the do have sound effects and music which does not work for everyone

Henry Phrynne wrote: "Thanks for the friend invite. I see you are reading another of my favourite authors Connie Willis. Have you read The Doomsday Book?"
I borrowed The Doomsday Book ePub from my local library. I like Connie Willis' writing but my favorite in her time travel series is To Say Nothing of The Dog. Since I read several books at a time I've had to renew my hold on The Doomsday Book, so I experience 3 weeks or so between reads. I think I'm about half way through it, and I'm finding the character Kivrin to be the most interesting in that story. I had a hard time getting into the conflict surrounding Badri's mysterious illness.
I see we have a number of books in common. Judging from the books we both liked, I think you would enjoy
When You Reach Me
Take care,
Henry
