Givin' It Away

Just posted: Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ Giveaway for A Greater Monster. If my book interests you, please enter for it here: http://www.goodreads.com/giveaway/sho...

AGM is currently available

in Chicago: The Book Cellar, Unabridged Bookstore, After-Words Books, Quimby’s, Sandemeyer’s Books, Chicago Comics, and 57th Street Books (just added)

in St. Louis: Dunaway Books, Subterranean Books, Pudd’nhead Books, Star Clipper Comics, and Left Bank Books (just added)

 in Austin, TX: Book People

And of course on Amazon:

Other news: I’ve submitted my book to the distributor who carried Death by Zamboni, so I’m hoping they will agree to carry it, in which case bookstores can order it directly from them. Coming up in June, I’ll be on a mini-book tour in New York City with several readings. More on that closer to the date.

Had a great reading at After-Words Books the first night of the AWP convention. Over twenty folks showed up on a blustery cold evening. Had a great time.

Cecilia How do you feel there up on display, David? Someone took some pretty good shots of you. You need to come to Wichita, KS town...I'll come...:>

Cheers and best of luck with your book, too!

David Katzman Thanks, Cecilia! I feel pretty comfortable reading. I was in theater for many years, so I'm used to performing in front of an audience.

If you can get a bookstore in Wichita to carry my book ... and it sells well ... then I'd have a reason to do a reading there! :-) Otherwise, I'd have to show up and read on a street corner.

Cecilia Hey...I was in high school plays and community theater so get what you're saying...we are both "hams"? At least, it doesn't bother me either to get up and talk in front of others. Weird way to get our kicks, huh.

Maybe I can convince Watermark Books in Wichita, KS to take a look at your work. That's where a lot of authors appear to promote their books.

Otherwise, I'll hang out on the street corner and listen to you read...no problem...:> Maybe I can dress up in a little monkey suit, can in hand, and take coins from the passer-bys.

Cheers...Cecilia

David Katzman Just don't throw your poop at anyone. I'll lose my audience.

message 5: by Cecilia (new)

Cecilia No worries there...that's only if I'm caged & kids are harassing me...:> I'm a very well behaved primate. Geez, David!

Kenya Wright Whoa. I would freak out! I'm so impressed David! I will definetly be reading this book!

message 7: by David (new)

David Katzman Thanks, Kenya! I think it's okay to be nervous. I'm often nervous right beforehand, but once you're reading, it's easy. I was also an actor, so i have experience on stage. The key is to focus on the work rather than the audience. :-)
