Lost Generation

In the epigraph to Ernest Hemingway's The Sun Also Rises, Gertrude Stein is credited with coining the term 'lost generation' to describe the group of expatriate authors who lived and worked in Paris in the 1920s. Along with Stein and Hemingway, their contemporaries included F. Scott Fitzgerald, James Joyce, Ezra Pound, among many others.
