Sonia H asked:

¿Is it ok if I let my 11-year-old son read it? I mean, has it got sex, violence, or anything inappropiate for him?? Thank you in advance.

Mo Probably not. The shark attacks might be okay, but there are still some adult themes. There is no explicit sex, however, there is a scene that cuts away right before the characters do have sex and there are descriptions of women's breasts. One of the characters is also a sort of pimp for the Navy and there are passing references to the "services" he arranged. Additionally, a character commits suicide which is described in the book. TLDR; violence, nudity, alcohol use, and general adult themes.
Jayne He's probably 16 now but I would have let him read it, definitely. Yes there's a bit a language, some sexual references, but nothing explicit. and If my 11 year old had the reading level to cope with this, I'd be exceptionally happy!
Nell I did not read Jaws as early as I saw it (6 years old), but my dad watched it with me... I would say that, while it depends on your child, gore and violence might be a concern. It's the type of gore and violence that would be on par with other movies and books now. Do people die? Yep. I'd suggest reading with your child... Then if there are scenes that you want to address, you can do so right then... :-)
Jerry It's not appropriate for an 11 year old and it's not a good book. He'll lose interest.
Corinne Johnston That's a difficult question to answer because only you know what your son can handle? It's similar to Jaws but on a far larger scale. I don't remember any graphic or non-graphic sex scenes but there is a fair amount of normal shark attacks. I think for the most part it builds up on the suspense. His first movie is coming out in August 2018 which should give you some idea of what the novels are about.
