When did you realize that you wanted to express your creativity and knowledge through writing? Was it encouraged by others? What creative expressions (e.g. art, dance, media, music) have you tried in the past, present or future to express your creativity through?

Andrew Shaffer I've been writing since I learned to read, so can't really pinpoint an exact moment in time. I just remember wanting to be an author "when I grew up." I was also an artist from an early age. For a long time, I was torn between art and writing. I found a happy medium for a while in designing holiday greeting cards for my card company, Order of St. Nick. However, there are only so many hours in the day. When my publishing career finally started to take off, I pretty much dropped my artwork to focus on my writing.
