-The fact that fangirl by rainbow rowell is not becoming a movie as of today.
- the fact that theres tons of great ya books in hollywood limbo(they have a script but nothing more)
- the fact that tintin:2 is still years away
- the fact that thers no news on the shamers daughter adaption. The Shamer's Daughter (The Shamer Chronicles, #1) by Lene Kaaberbøl
...yep am in a sad fangirl mood.

Sorry Oda! If you want the flip side - at least Hollywood has not screwed things up! I am super excited for the movie adaptations of Chaos Walking and Ready Player One and both are in the development stages so I hope at least one makes it to the screen!

thats true. Nice optimistic way of looking at it :D besides no matter how long books are in development limbo, there are always new books to get lost in. and always one book that actually gets made.

Kristen Taber | 506 comments and personally I'd rather they take longer and get it right than to rush it and get it wrong. seems there are more examples of the latter!

Thats true too. Usually I`m patient, and know that good things taker time. But now and then I just wish something would happen.

Yay!

& I know what you mean about having a hard time waiting. I wish the studios would provide more info on a regular basis just so we know our favorite books aren't forgotten.

I will be livid Brigid! You know how I love that series. I know they are in production for his book A Monster Calls and picking the cast so that could be a test case!

I had a dream a while ago that they made the Chaos Walking movie and it was all cheerful and full of sparkles and I was like "WHAT." Hahaha. Ooh I didn't know about A Monster Calls, though!

W.J. Lennox | 48 comments The winter vomiting bug! My whole family have come down with it this week, and it was inevitable after caring for sick kids that I would catch it. What a waste of a week, still so much to do for Xmas and I'm not well enough to get on with my writing. Illness definitely sucks :(

message 329: by Heidi (new)

Heidi | 6961 comments Mod
Sorry WJ! Everyone around me is coughing and sneezing. I need a bubble to protect myself.

message 330: by Ashley Marie (new)

Ashley Marie we dealt with the winter cold bug around Halloween, hopefully nothing comes back this way for another year.

I remember last year on New Year's the bf and I went all out -- got a hotel room and package that included dinner (filet mignon, no less), champagne toast and admission to the hotel's party -- unfortunately we only got to snag dinner. I wasn't feeling good all day, but we got to the hotel and hung out in the Jacuzzi, which helped, but I still had chills all night and by the time we got to dinner I could barely make it to the table. The food was amazing though, I hadn't lost my sense of taste yet! But we went back to the room and snuggled up in bed and passed out -- I woke up for midnight then back to sleep and by morning we both felt like death. Not my favorite way to spend New Year's but memorable nevertheless. Fevers creep up on you!

That is the worst feeling when you wake up feeling a little off and then get worse as the day progresses. You feel like you were hit with a bus!

message 334: by Ashley Marie (new)

Ashley Marie By dinner I was just glad I could still taste food lol. That steak was fantastic. But then when I went to bed I couldn't get warm no matter how many covers I had.

W.J. Lennox | 48 comments Heidi/Ashley - Could do with a bubble myself. Always seem to catch whatever's going. Probably because I work at home and haven't got the same immunity that I used to have when I worked in a hospital. And having kids - they're notorious for sharing their germs. Think I would rather have coldly symptoms right now than head down toilet. Leaves you feeling totally wiped out. At least it's not my Xmas dinner I'm parting with as that would be a crime, so I guess there's always an upside.

Ashely - you've reminded me of my 40th birthday. My hubby took me to Paris and I spent most of it inside my hotel room with the worst flu I've ever had. Made worse by the fact we had the worst spell of snow in November for years and when checked in for our departure home, we had to wait 8 hrs, only to hear that our flight to Edinburgh had been cancelled and was shuttled off to the back of beyond for the night. I remember lying on the airport floor as didn't have the strength to stand. Had to make our own way back to the airport the next day, managed to get a flight to London and then only to Glasgow. After that it took over 4 hrs for my hubby's dad to come and get us and drive us home. There was such a terrible blizzard on the motorway, thought we might never make it home. Sounds like the film Planes, Trains and automobiles. A memorable 40th but not for the right reason. - Wendy

message 338: by Ashley Marie (new)

Ashley Marie Yikes Wendy! I've only taken 3 plane trips in my life and none out of the US, but bad weather amidst flights sounds like one of the worst things to deal with EVER.

Lysol is your friend

message 342: by W.J. (new)

W.J. Lennox | 48 comments Don't think we have that in the UK, Heidi. Dettol is probably the equivalent antiseptic cleaning fluid, thanks, tho!

Heidi | 6961 comments Mod
Well you got my drift at least! Lysol is a spray disinfectant that kills up to 99.9% of germs. Just hope you don't have the .1% germ :)

I remember when I was young and loved the snow and cold. Those days are long gone! November came in like a Lion and it has been cold mostly everyday since. It is funny because anytime it is over 40 degrees everyone here goes out without coats like it is summer!

message 347: by Jenny (new)

Jenny (juliababyjen) | 1572 comments Yup, same here in Iowa :) It was GORGEOUS last Saturday, almost 60 degrees! Then Sunday was in the 20s with a bitter cold wind! UGH been pretty cold ever since.

I love winter, snow and the cold.

I just don't like it when I'm sick. I can't stand wearing the heavy jackets while your body is protesting the weight.

Watching gilmore girls reruns, and KNOWING that there will not be a season 8th. (still hoping for a movie though).
But I mean, in season 7 sookie was pregnant again, lorelai and luke were starting something again..
And personally I like season seven but I mean could we not have had 2-3 extra episodes? I would have been happy with luke and lorelai having an egangemt party, they did not have to get married on screen but still some last happy HAPPY SMILEY MPOMENTS FOR THEM.
And I want to see sookie giving birth one last time.
You cant spring another baby and cheat us put of a birth or more knowledge...
:/:/
Me gilmore girls sad.

p.s
I know,I know I should not re watch gg if it makes me so sad,but at the same time its so great that it makes me happy too.
It makes me sad and happy at the same time :D :(

The fact that tom hanks plays in the dan brown movies, and not brendan fraser(some people including me think he would be better in the role.)
- also that dan brown`s standalone books are not made to movies..:/
