Introduce Yourself
I'm Shanon & I love to read! Obviously since I'm on GoodReads right.
My favorite series is tough to narrow down. It's usually the one I just finished or I'm in the middle of! Right now it's probably Ilona Andrews' Kate Daniels series. So much fun! Sookie Stackhouse & Kim Harrison are also in my top 3.
I read bit by bit catching 5 minutes anywhere I can. I have 2 kids that keep me really busy so I take what I can get!
Something Unique about me... My name is spelled wrong. I am always telling people it's only one N. I had to have my High School diploma fixed. One day someone even asked ME if I spelled MY name right. I'm also into Digital Scrapbooking, Updating my family blog, and my latest hobby is decorating cakes - it's a yummy hobby!

Karen Chance, Patricia Briggs, Charlaine Harris, Stephenie Meyer, MaryJanice Davidson, Keri Arthur, Jeaniene Frost, just the name a few.
my favorite place to read is anywhere i can get in a few pages of my latest book i am reading..
something most people don't know about me i used to hate to read. i just picked up reading last June so its just about one year since i have started.. my boyfriend made me buy a book from chapters there was a sale buy 3 get one free so i got to get two. i saw Karen chance's books and thought hmmmm sounds cool. i picked book 1 and 3 and figured i would buy 2 once i found it.. i read like 3 chapters on the way home and was hooked... i haven't put down a book since..
now i love to read.. i don't know how i lived without it. :) now i am trying to caught up on all the books i want to read. :) one day lol

Let me see now.. my favorite series. I believe that it has to be Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunters. It was my first introduction into paranormal romance, and it's the series that I can constantly re-read and never get tired of.
I have so many other series that I love, but I think that is what I will call my "favorite" lol.
Facorite palce to read... hmmm... I guess curled up in my living room where there is the comfy couch. I ball myself up and read tehre. I also can get comfortable reading on my bed, the only problem is if I'm reading later at night I tend to fall asleep like that.
Hobbies: Besides reading lol, I love playing tennis. There are a few courts around me where I play against my bf. I enjoy running - but I haven't been able to do that as much because of so much school work. I'm finishing up my masters in teaching right now. So I've been a little busy.
Something unique about me - I'm not that unique lol. I guess something that people on this site wouldn't know about me is that I can be quite messy? I'm pretty OCD when it comes to my books and my bookshelves, but other than that I pretty much throw stuff around lol. I'll try to think of something more interesting than that, but it's all I've got right now.

I do not read much, at least not for pleasure...simply because I am a traditional author, that's means I am professional, I make my living at it (not self-published) and I am too busy writing to read. I read quite a bit for research, for my writing and for the numerous guest appearances I do on Web radio...mostly in the paranormal community...the real deal, not fantasy paranormal.
My cozy paranormal mystery series stars a young women (mid-20s) named Shannon Delaney, in present time, she is a publicity writer and has the knack for choosing freelance jobs where the paranormal finds her, as her own intuitive talents evolve. She also has a ghost as a spirit guide, he was a master magician of the late 1800s. Quite a bit of actual history is incorporated into the stories because I used to write non-fiction about California and America of the 1800s
At present (until the end of April) I have a no-strings-attached survey going on: Do You Believe in Ghosts?, and there is an optional free drawing. Details on my web site:

I love reading. I have quite a varied taste in reading if you check out my shelves. However, Paranormal/UF isn't something I generally read. I do like the Harry Potter stories, so that's some witches there. Way, Way, way back in college I used to play AD&D (Advanced Dungeons & Dragons), so I'm very familiar with the paranormal beasties and such. lol Heck, I used to do medieval re-enactments for fun as well.
I have Odd Thomas I was going to read by Dean Koontz. Not hardcore paranormal probably but it is for me. I've got a review copy of Family Bones to read which is fantasy/horror/paranormal, so that'll be a bit different as well.
My other hobby besides reading is Cross Stitch. I also do some crochet, sewing and quilting but cross stitch is the one I do the most.
Something unique about me... I'm engaged to an Englishman. He lives in England, and I live in the middle of the USA.

I have always loved reading but have only started reading romance a couple years ago and I would have to say my fave PNR series is the Dark Hunter series.

I have two of my grandmother's sewing machines. Quilting isn't very portable and takes alot of space so while my kids were younger, I quit. Youngest is now 4, so I could start again but I prefer to cross stitch. I send you a friend request.
nice... i got in to cross stitching about 10 years ago.. boy its been awhile. i like to do more small projects vs larger ones... i just learned to knit which i love. and crocheting well my mom got my hooks like 15 years ago my first project was a queen sized blanket i still have and love to use its so warm :)

You can see the last 9 years of my finished cross stitch, my crochet, my quilting, fancy kids birthday cakes and a few recent family photos here:
wow. ur work is beautiful.... :) i am speechless.... really its that nice... i love kits my self its fun it has everything u need and its goof proof :) which i am a goof :)

Thanks Stephanie. I like kits too as it's all there for you. But being frugal by nature, I have saved tons of old stitching magazines and have leaftets, free charts from online, etc. With a bin of aida/evenweave stitching fabric and a full set of DMC threads I can stitch anything without having to go out and spend any money.
Right now I'm looking for a chart to match what my exchange partner likes in the other groups bookmark exchange.
nice... well i hope u find it BG. if u need help let me know i am good at looking up things on the net :)

Thanks for the invite and I must say, this group sounds as though it will be fun and right up my alley! I am obsessed with reading and I will give most books a chance, especially if a paranormal/fantasy/sci-fi streak runs through them. I try to be a well-rounded reader. The books I think of as necessities are all on my favorites shelf. If I had to pick one favorite genre, I would choose urban fantasy, as I am a fan of Kim Harrison, Patricia Briggs, Charlaine Harris, and Rachel Caine. My top books ever (in no particular order) The Picture of Dorian Gray, Cat’s Cradle, and Dune.
I tend to have a book in my car, in my purse/jacket pocket, open on my computer, in the garage…I read whenever and wherever I can. I also tend to obsess with a particular author or genre at a time, blazing through everything I can get my hands on. I’m in the middle of a graphic novel obsession.
My hobbies, well, sad to say I have dreams of hobbies but when it comes down to it, my boys come first, then school, then reading, and my husband fits in there somewhere:) Something unique about me, ummm, I cannot whistle. I don’t know, that’s the first thing that came to mind.

I always try and look out for new authors with something no one has out yet. That's what I am so therefore that's who i want to meet.
Something unique...Not really sure, I guess you could say I'm very sensitive to people feelings. I wouldn't say I'm an empath but I do somehow feel people's emotions probably more than I should.

Some of my favorite authors include, but in no way are limited to: Laurell K. Hamilton, Sherrilyn Kenyon, JR Ward, Jennifer Rardin, Adrian Phoenix, Jeaniene Frost, Lilith Saintcrow, Yasmine Galenorn, Gena Showalter, Charlaine Harris, Rachel Caine, Stephenie Meyer, PC & Kristin Cast and Richelle Mead. I'm a huge fan of Urban Fantasy and Paranormal Romance.
My favorite place to read would be anytime/anywhere! In line-ups, while eating, while waiting in the car, in the tub, on the couch and in bed. I always have a book with me.
Some hobbies are a bit of gardening in the summer, spending time with my niece and nephew, movies, tv shows,(I'm still totally blown away by the season finale of Terminator:TSCC),and prowling the book stores for new authors.
Something unique about me? I'm taking a creative writing course and I have my own book review blog, Sidhe Vicious Reviews.
Nice to "meet" you all! :)

My favorite authors include MaryJanice Davidson, Katie MacAlister, Charlaine Harris, Stephanie Rowe, Michelle Rowen, Karen Marie Moning.
My favorite place to read is anywhere, really. I always have a book in my purse.
Hobbies include spending time with my husband and two small kiddos, I blog, I write my own paranormal series for Dorchester and I love to go to writers' conferences and meet other authors and readers (especially when said conferences take place somewhere warm - like the RT Conference in Orlando the week after next -yay!)
Welcome everyone to the Witches, Weres, and Vamps OH MY...
i hope everyone has a great time and Happy Easter all. :)

Any Hobbies (besides the obvious one of reading) hrn... living? Working? and my fiance.. hehe. That's a great hobby... I guess I'm pretty boring.
Something Unique about You: I'm a middle school librarian and love my job, so I can only read so many adult novels due to my reading a bazillion YA books a year.

Favorite Book/Series Wow there are so many i'll narrow it too a few
Anita Blake, Sookie Stackhouse, Lords of the Underworld, The Darkyn series, Mercy Thompson, Alpha and Omega, and so on and so on ....

Something Unique about You LOl, hmm well when I was younger I was a big tomboy and one day I got caught in the girls bathroom trying to pee like boys do. It was so embarassing. One of my close friends just reminded me of that incident last week. Oh how I hate her :)
oh Jael - that is a great story! My family keeps asking why I'm giggling at the computer. I was a tom-boy too (still am) but I can't claim that special kind of moment. I LOVE IT!

I love paranormal and erotic romance, which is why I write it. But I love to talk about it too.
My autobuys are JR Ward, Lora Leigh and JD Robb. Other writers I enjoy include Louisa Burton, Nalini Singh, Tara Janzen, Kelly Armstrong, Christine Warren, Jim Butcher, and too many others to list.
Hobbies? Besides reading? Hmm, running. Ooh, and I'm now officially addicted to Guitar Hero. I'm getting pretty good on medium. I'm thinking I might move up to hard.

Welcome to the group Stephanie. Gotta love Guitar Hero! Good Luck on the hard level - I would need an extra finger to play it.

My favorite authors include L.A.Banks, Poppy Z. Brite, Tanith Lee, Jewell Parker Rhodes, John Connolly, Jenna Maclaine, Kresley Cole, Jacqueline Carey, Sunny, Christine Feeh..."
Hi Diane. My mom is a professional watercolor artist. She did the ATC thing, or something similiar.

I LOVE TO READ MOSLY AYTHING
I'm very open minded when it comes to reading
Also I read paranormal stuff anytime:)!!!!!!!!!

I'd have a hard time choosing a favorite book or series, I usually like the one I'm reading best. But some of my favorite authors are Tara Janzen, Elizabeth Moon, C.J. Cherryh, and a whole host of paranormalists...
My favorite place to read, oddly enough, is the doctor's office...an uninterrupted block of time ("the doctor will be right in..." sure) during which I'm not supposed to be doing anything else! No guilt. :O)
I'm horrible about hobbies. I want one...but nothing sticks. I've tried quilting, knitting, gardening, photography...probably cooking is the closest I come to a true hobbie. I love to prepare Italian, Mexican, Indian... And I love to feed people. :O)
Unique? Well, I once rode an elephant through the jungles of India while trying to photograph a tiger.
Welcome to the group Ambrosia & Melody.
Melody wrote: "I'd have a hard time choosing a favorite book or series, I usually like the one I'm reading best ..."
DITTO! It makes it easier to choose (and remember) when it's the one you're currently reading.

My name is lily and I have been reading steadily since I was about 4. When I started kindergarden, I could read and so I was skipped to first grade. We moved and tghere they wouldnt let me advance due to my age and so I ended up spending another year in first grade. I remember bordom.
Anyway, was a sci-fi/fantasy reader primarily until i read Mercedes Lackeys urban fantasy, after reading quite abit of her standard fantasy. Her website reccemended Laurell Hamilton and the Blood Bloods and after that, well, I have read a lot of paranormal fantasy. My favorite authors are, uh, well its pretty fluid, but right now, LKH, Leapoldo Gout, Lilith Saintcrow, Yasmine Galenorn, Karen Chance, Devon Monk, ahhh, and many more.
Something different about me, I like quilting, and Lakota pow-wow and ceremonial songs, and I am Lakota, and I am bloging during a blizzard in Denver.

Some of my favorite authors are: Nora Roberts...the ones that deal with Paranormal or Witches I love the most! Stephen King, Ann Rice...I'm sure I will find many new favorites being a part of this new group...excited about that, I'm a Voracious Reader!
I read in bed, door closed! I need complete silence to truly enjoy any book!
Something Unique about me: I met my Hubby on the internet in a chatroom back in 1995...talked online & the phone for 6 months...then I flew from Ketchikan, AK to Santa Monica,CA on 2-14-1996 to meet in person! Being a small town woman of 40 at the time & coming out of a 22 yr marriage, this was shocking for my soon to be Ex, Family & Friends! To add to the intrigue my Hubby is a Little Person(dwarf). I'm 5'9" & he is 4'4"...he is the LOVE of my life, we have been together for 13 yrs and still love & adore each other!
I'm one LUCKY Wife/Mommy...son/30, daughter/28,stepdaughter/20 & Grammie(Redheaded Grandson/6...a gift from my son)!!
Friends in Reading!
ur welcome SteffieStar :) i hope u have fun in our group :)

People are always telling me that I read way too much, I just disagree quietly. Some of my favorite authors are Scott Westerfeld, Anne Rice, Chuck Palahniuk, Cassandra Clare, and alot more.
I can read any where. I perfer to read in my kitchen with a cookie or two on hand.
Something unique about me... humph.
I have an obsession with Charles Manson and Pugs.
Yes, Pugs. A type of extremely adorable dogs =]

I'd have to say that my favorite series right now is a toss-up between Sookie Stackhouse and The Black Dagger Brotherhood. I've been reading vampire fiction/romance for the better part of 14 years. My obsession began with Christopher Pike's The Last Vampire series. And boy did I squeal with delight when I found a listing on Amazon for a brand new omnibus. Can't wait to read it again! And scream at the book when I read the ending . . .
My favorite place to read is at my Mom and Dad's house in Florida in the backyard with the dogs running around. Too bad I live in Michigan : (
For hobbies, I love pretty much all forms of entertainment: TV, movies, music, and video games. I also can't wait until it gets warm out again because I love riding my bike.
I guess something unique about me is that I'm learning Japanese. I've taken 6 semesters so far but my sensei says our class is at about the same level as 3rd graders. Oh well, gives me an excuse to watch more anime! To learn more of the language . . . yeah . . . that's right . . .
; )

My favorite series are: Charlaine Harris , Patricia Briggs (mercy), Jeaniene Frost, Kim Harrison , Keri Arthur, Carrie Vaughn, JR Ward, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Karen Marie Moning and Larissa Ione.
My single favorite place to read is in my bed!
When I am not reading I like running and yoga and harass my son (he is a teenager) and he is always doing something which makes him my source of entertainment.
Something unique about me ...I am OCD about the strangest thing for example most of my house has to be spotless except my bedroom and my bathroom which never seems to be clean?? I mean my closet is total OCD light to dark, shirts are organized by color and style but yet I have mounds of shoes and paper and cds everywhere. Oh and my bookshelves have to be in this order that I like to think I have perfected. Quite sad really.

I like to listen to music and watch Bones
I try to read every second i get but my favorite place is my couch.
Something unique...... the only thing i can think of is i speak russian.

I love the BDB series/ Dark hunters/Immortals after Dark Series/Larissa Ione / Karen Marie Moning.
I start out reading in my living room on one end of the couch. then when it turns dark i set myself up in my bedroom and read till the wee hours in the night.
Other then reading I do enjoy scrapbooking and baking. I love making cookies and brownies ... i so could go for some right now just thinking about it.
I currently looking for a decent yet inexpensive bookcase cause my walls are starting to be lined up with books
