The Perks Of Being A Book Addict discussion
ARCHIVE Team Challenge: UNO 2017

Team Liesel Meminger

I am currently reading In the Woods, which I think you read Natalie, so that should cover one, and I'm also thinking of reading Clean Sweep.
I'll take a look at my color books and let you know.

Probably!! And maybe a spring theme for April!!

2. Read one book that is one of the team names for 30 points
Note: Where a team name is a series book, only book 1 of the series can count for this part.

Read the first book the character is known for. For our character, it would be The Book Thief (one book). For characters from a series (Kate Daniels) only the first book of the series would count, Magic Bites.
I'll add a tracking area to the spreadsheet.
Also how are people at scrabble? I'm not that great. I did come up with one seven letter option, but we get bonus points for completing part one, so we should focus on that first.

Thanks. The wording of the task is weird. Or I'm weird, one of these :-)

Both? :)
I have A Man Called Ove on audio so I could use it for that task, unless someone else wants to read for it. It would also work for the other parts.

Limited to 14 characters :P
The most I found was one that did 36, but I'm pretty sure that there were more words that it didn't find.

I know I have already read The Book Thief

For Part 1 A, we need to read books written by the authors that wrote the books that the team names were taken from. We can do up to 5 of those.
Part 1 B - Natalie is doing that with A man called Ove.
Part 1C - We need to find the names of characters from the team name books, in the books we read.
For example: I may find a character called Robert in my book The Shipping News. That counts as Robert is a character from the book used to get Team Robert Langdon. We need to get 10 different ones.

I don't get the first part. Is there somewhere I can read about it?

I explained a bit in my message above. You can also check out the mini thread here. /topic/show/...

Okay thank you!!
So it can be any one of the teams names and characters, not just our own. That was where I was stuck

Yes any of the teams.

No each name only once.

No each name only once."
okay, thank you.

I really enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to the sequel. I am a bit confused about the world and wish we got a bit more info about that.
Vicious is still my favorite by her. I love a good villain and she is writing a sequel to it.

Glad you liked it!! I know what you mean about the confusion about the world, but it really just makes me want to read more!!
I will have to check out Vicious soon ! :)

I have not, but I just checked in with her. We're reading ahead of what we needed between the three of us (mainly you two) so I don't think we would get another teammate.

We haven't decided on the words yet as the goal is to use as many of the letters as possible. I would work off the list of letters on the mini 2 tab, focus on the vowels first and then go from there.

Yup:
Normal "spell-it-out" rules apply. i.e. Letter needs to be the first letter in the book title, author first name or surname, character name or nickname, or setting. Articles (a/an/the) can be ignored in the book titles. For this spell-it-out, you can also use the first letter in the series name.

Looks great! Thanks for figuring this out. We'll need 43 books to fill every spot and we have 10 books put aside right now, I don't think we'll get them all, but we'll get as many as possible.
For the other parts of the challenge.
Cards - 15 spots open
6 & 8 Yellow - Venecia
3, 5, 7, 7, 8, 9
And then 7 W/WD4
I'm certain we'll have no issues covering these cards as we work on the mini challenge.
For March Mini Part 1 -
Venecia
- Blood Bound
- Gunmetal Magic
Cecily
- The Luxe
Natalie
- Cry Wolf
- A Man Called Ove
12 Days to go! Please let me know if you have trouble finishing anything

Cards - 11 spots open
6 Yellow - Venecia
5, 7, 7
And then 7 W/WD4
I can swap books around so read for whatever and I can fit.
March Mini Part 1 -
Venecia
- The Mirror Crack'd
- Magic Gifts
Natalie
- A Man Called Ove
For scrabble, I think I'm going to wait until Saturday, start slotting books in, and then see where we need letters. E, N, R, S, & Y are the most frequent.

Jessica has unfortunately been having some health issues that has affected her reading. She's staying with team, but is unable to read her color books. So we need options for the following:
8 Yellow
8 Red
Let me know if you have anything, otherwise I can cover them.
