Odd Thomas by Dean Koontz - 4
I have completed what I set out to do this month, the medium level and will now focus on the spring challenge.
All the books were enjoyable reads and four by Australian authors.
1. Nanna and Pop
Read a book where there is a Main Character who is over 50.
2. Coffee
The word coffee is mentioned in the text.
Elizabeth is quite often meeting up with someone in the coffee shop at the library.
In Chapter 4 coffee is mentioned. "Well, I supposed I could meet you for a coffee during my break this afternoon.
3. Purple Unicorn (thanks to little Miss Lily for this one!!!)
Read a book with a purple cover
4. Comet (comet is their cat)
Read a book with a cat on the cover
5. Miss Poppy
Read a book where there is a school aged character
10. Monster (apparently one under Lily's bed that I have to sort out with monster poison next time I go over)
Task: Either read a book that is tagged as Horror OR read a book tagged as paranormal book.

Just finished:
6. Rubbish Bin (TBR +2yrs) For Whom the Bell Tolls by Ernest Hemingway 471p
This book sat on my TBR list for almost 3 years... and what an anticlimax... :(
My review: /review/show...
3/6
7. Knickers (MC is girl, title includes "knickers") The Truth About Thongs by Stephanie Rowe 128p
10. Monster (Tagged as Horror) Finders Keepers by Stephen King 431p
11. Fish Fingers (Sea on cover)Rogue Wave by AA Christopher Cartwright 362p

I can't help you regarding that one Krystal, sorry. However, if you've read enough to rate it, my advice would be either to count it as completed with a DNF and/or substitute it for another one that would match any of the criteria. :)

In my opinion it does not get any better. I gave it two stars and described it in my review as dull and bland. I didn't try any more in the series after that one:)

Thanks, Kylie

Not what I wanted to hear, Phrynne! Think I might sub in something else instead. I'm gonna start reading AAs and pray one of them has the word 'coffee' in it haha.
I think I will make it my personal mission to finish this book, though! But no way am I gonna read it often enough to finish it in two weeks lol

I've finished my 7th book for this challenge :)
3. Knickers - Task: Either read a book where the MC is a woman -

I read her 'Black Magician's Guild' trilogy about 10y ago and enjoyed the first book but the second was disappointing (think the third was okay). Haven't read any more of her work since then.

So I'm changing my Rubbish Bin read to Coffee and will now be reading Remind Me How This Ends by Gabrielle Tozer (AA) which contains this sentence on page 56:
'I bumped into him at the bottle shop yesterday after coffee with my reflexology group, and he invited me around.'

Level = Easy
3/3
5. Miss Poppy - School aged character
The Weight of Silence by Heather Gudenkauf 5
6. Rubbish Bin - On TBR since 2012
One for the Money by Janet Evanovich 4
Knickers - Female Main Character
Lost In Kakadu by Kendall Talbot AA 4

7. Knickers - MC is a Woman
Tell the Truth by Katherine Howell

/review/show...

Going very well too Owl, I'm sure you'll polish the other 2 to complete your challenge in no time! :)
And I'm glad you found something to substitute your DNF Krystal. Good call. :)

Congrats Phrynne and Kylie!

Easy - Read 3 books - one Aussie author
1. Nanna and Pop: read a book where there is a Main Character who is over 50
The Hundred-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared by Jonas Jonasson 4
I had this one as an audiobook, and the narration was superb. This was an amusing book, several LOL moments, lots of world political history in it (not my strong point).
3. Purple Unicorn : read a book tagged as fantasy
A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin
5. Miss Poppy : read a book where there is a teacher as a character
Maestro by Peter Goldsworthy AA 4
Took a long time to getting around to reading this one, I thought it was going to be too hard, but in fact it was easy to read, and had a very strong sense of Darwin, a city largely unfamiliar to me.

Brenda wrote: "Well done Phrynne :) A shame you had some "not so good" reads in that lot!"
Oh well. You can't win them all:)
