Loren Johnson (lorenjohnsonau) | 119 comments Forgot to come and say (busy, busy) I finished my challenge a couple of days ago with The Wrong Boy by Suzy Zail. Absolutely one of the greatest works of historical fiction I have ever read. It had me losing sleep (because I wanted to keep reading) and crying like a baby at the sad parts. I recommend it! Anyway, I'm finished for the month! And all of my books for the month ended up with 5 star ratings! I had a very lucky month! Now...bring on November šŸ˜

Congratulations on finishing the challenge. Giving all your books a 5 star rating means I'll have to go back and have a look at your list!

"It was noon. Only seven hours remained on the clock, and Caitlin and Spense had gone back to the Sky Walk to brainstorm. Horatio personally delivered a pot of coffee, along with a plate of cookies, possibly wrongly assuming they'd already had lunch-which was fine by her but not cool with Spense, who said he'd rather settle for black coffee than poison himself with white sugar." Easy - Read 3 books - one Aussie author

1. Nanna and Pop: read a book where there is a Main Character who is over 50

The Hundred-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared by Jonas Jonasson 4

I had this one as an audiobook, and the narration was superb. This was an amusing book, several LOL moments, lots of world political history in it (not my strong point).

3. Purple Unicorn : read a book tagged as fantasy

A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin 5

I was late to the party for this series, both the books and the television series. I now see what all the hype is about!

5. Miss Poppy : read a book where there is a teacher as a character

Maestro by Peter Goldsworthy AA 4

Took a long time to getting around to reading this one, I thought it was going to be too hard, but in fact it was easy to read, and had a very strong sense of Darwin, a city largely unfamiliar to me.

The Hundred-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared by Jonas Jonasson A Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice and Fire, #1) by George R.R. Martin Maestro by Peter Goldsworthy

message 266: by Trish L (new)

Trish L | 139 comments This was my first challenge and I am embarrassed to admit that I failed miserably :-( We went overseas for the last two weeks of the month and so I only achieved 1.5 of the 3 books I intended to read. My good intentions of reading on the plane came to naught with the combination of the soporific droning in the cabin and some must watch movies. Plus....... there's no down time when you are away! I'll be trying another challenge in the New Year.
