Hey, me again (I'm the one that told you about Wolfsong in another thread).
This is another series that I loved

I could go on 😆 as I have tons of other shifter types (some of my fav series are multi-species shifters lol), a few other non shifter/vamp ones and quite a few standalones too.

Did I read you are more into cat shifters? I don't believe I read a pnr with a cat shifter. What would you recommend for a beginner cat shifting reader?"
Hey bestie! Ooh, so many!
First, questions. Do you want the start of a long series, or a short series or novella length? Do you mind the middle of a series? High or medium heat? Felines only or are mixed species with a lot of felines ok?

Feline specific series that I've enjoyed would be
The Lion's Pride series by Eve Langlais:
When an Alpha Purrs
Celia Kyle's Ridgeville series: He Ain't Lion
These are the ones I can think of that I enjoyed but I'm looking forward to Bestie's recommendations, too

Hope you enjoy.

Ok Cool! I hear you re; starting a series at the beginning - it is a very rare thing for me to do otherwise, and usually because I'm not interested in the rest of the series! Even more reason to be book besties lol!

Hey, Robin, I second the Celia Kyle series (I also enjoyed her bear shifter one too) as I really enjoyed that too, but you have highlighted one that I don't recall hearing about before with the Eve Langlais so thanks!
Robin wrote: "There are lots of pnr with various animals--Zoe Chant does some hot pnr with various animals. Shelley Laurenston did a series of various types of paranormals that had a lot of humor."
Yes to Zoe Chant - although I've not read much of theirs yet and none of the feline ones. But what I have read, I've enjoyed.
And Shelley Laurenston is the QUEEN IMO. I would def say that her series covers a multitude of different animals (incl the wild honey badgers!), but there are a good amount of different felines there - lions, tigers and a couple of feline/other animal hybrids! If you are interested in busting a gut laughing at crazy, campy, chaotic and totally OTT shenanigans I would highly recommend her. To get a taste of her style before you dive into her shifter world ( 3 series listed in the full reading order here, one that follows another that whilst don't have to read like that, I think are far better because of how she writes), you could try this one which is in KU

I will say that this is far from my fav of hers, her writing has improved tons since this one and it has more sex than the majority of what I've read of hers so far, but it will give you a very good idea of whether her humour and storytelling works for you as she has a very strong signature 'style'.

These are all on KU.

Most of the shifters are felines (if I recall rightly), but there are also a number of wolves and bears BUT one thing that makes this one different is that it is also intertwined with the Fae world including some Fae characters and it has lots of lore and politics to it and covers multiple different locations.
There is an origin story novella that gives the backstory, but that and the first couple of books in the series are a bit rough writing wise, but again, I love the overall plot. I personally don't like some of the romances (which is funny because around the same time, this author wrote one of my first and favourite historical romances! The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie, but that is not a problem for me because the things I do love about it make it worthwhile for me.
Sorry for inundating you lol! One of my fav things to do is rec books and especially lesser-known and mostly indie ones. There are of course many other much more well known ones, but I don't always read those and most people automatically discuss them so I'm sure you will come across them at some point.
I wrote reviews on some of them, so if you want to know my thoughts on any of these in particular, as we are GR friends you will see whatever review I wrote when you click on the individual book.

Also this huge world Damon’s Mountains Universe by one of the authors I mentioned in my wolf post above, is one of the most diverse in terms of the numbers of different animal types but it takes a while to get to the felines. It's also 10 different series (but they are shorter books) that follow on from another and like the Shifters Unbound, covers a series-long plot.
OK, I'm done!!!
