I don't. =) If I can't find the words to finish a scene or build the following scenes, I just shut my laptop and stop thinking about it. I then read heaps of books to regain my reader's perspective and maybe a day or a week or even a month later, I go back after the story has been quietly toiling away in the back of my mind and pick up where I left off. There's no point stressing about it, because in my opinion, that will only keep you stuck for longer. (less)

So sorry it's taken me so long to reply! I didn't realise I'd been asked a question (whoops!). Ok. Well, here goes: I must say I've never read 50 Shades of Grey and don't intend to, and sadly I don't know who Anais Nin is either, but as for why young women read books like 50 Shades... maybe because it's easy to read? Because it easily satisfies some desire inside them? It's enlightening on... such things? Who really knows? Maybe simply because they want to know what all the fuss is about, to feel on top of the times. I don't really read erotica, just romances by Jamie McGuire, Abbi Glines, Colleen Hoover, those kind of people. That's the best answer I can give =)(less)

The Beginning of the End

Just a note to readers of this little niche on the web, I have changed the 'about' of this blog: all previous posts had to do with me talking about what I learnt on my self-publishing journey in hopes it was useful to someone, somewhere.

As of now, I've decided that the world is far too large for there not to be more people like me, a group that encompasses students who are authors in their spare Read more of this blog post »

“Ow! That’s my leg, you know.â€ She rubbed the sore spot. “I’m gonna have a big bruise there now. Thanks a lot.â€
“Just tell everyone you had to fend off a pack of unicorns with your bare hands. ‘Cause you were just walking around, minding your own business, cavorting with nature, when a bunch of unicorns descended upon you unexpectedly, and wanted to practice their horn- fighting with a human, just in case they happened upon a wizard and they had to battle to stay free. A wizard would use his wand, so you grabbed a stick, but the stick broke, so you only had your hands. And one of the unicorns horns went through your leg, and ‘cause their horns have healing qualities or whatever, the hole healed, but he was just a young unicorn, so his powers hadn’t developed fully yet, and so you were left with this battle scar that’ll mark you as a hero for the rest of your life.
There was a brief silence.
“You’re full of crap, you know that, right?
“Yup. But I feel better for it.”
Kelly Batten, One Day You'll Find Me

“My nerves came back in full force. I'd thrown myself in the deep end, and, feeling like I had no idea how to swim, I had to get back to shore somehow.
"I'm sorry," I whispered.”
Kelly Batten, One Day You'll Find Me

“Sometimes I found it hard to believe that the person in the mirror was me.”
