A Newbie Saturday Spanking! (#SatSpanks #MFRWAuthor #HighlandVampire)
Highland Vampire, a short story by Suz deMello
Natasha Desmond is a woman on the run, and Garrett Kilburn, the sexy-as-sin owner of Castle Kilburn, seems to offer refuge. But that safety comes with a price. Though she willingly comes to his bed, she may be in for more than she expected:
With his next thrust, his open hand met my buttcheek in a loud smack that vibrated through me and reverberated around the room.
I gasped and jerked. “What the hell are you doing?
“I’m spanking your pretty rear end, kylyrra. Hasn’t anyone else ever spanked your bottom? It’s fair irresistible, your bum.
“You’re the bum here.
“Now, don’t be cheeky, and don’t tell me I’m hurting you, either. Your pussy tells me differently.”
I’m limited by the rules of Saturday Spankings to eight (8!!!) sentences only–so there’s a lot more where that excerpt came from. Find it here:

A heist? A murder? It’s villain’s choice in The Heist, by @AdrianaKraft #suspense #mystery #romance
Planning a heist by Adriana Kraft
Our latest release, The Heist, got its start on a rainy Monday a while back, when hubs and I attended a behind-the-scenes tour at our small Iowa town’s exquisite art museum. A new exhibit was about to open, and we were treated to detailed descriptions of the process of locating and ordering traveling exhibits, shipping them, storing them, uncrating them, hanging them, insuring their safety, and repacking them.
You must know by now that hubs is a criminologist by profession. It didn’t take us long to be looking for vulnerable spots in the museum’s process, and by the end of the day, with a little internet research on the high stakes world of stolen paintings, we had our basic plot sketched out.
Our next problem was—what painting should be stolen? Clearly, we couldn’t go with an existing well-known piece of art. We opted to create The Three Maids, an entirely fictional trio of medium sized Impressionist portraits, based on what we knew about Monet, Manet, Renoir, Caillebotte, and the women they painted. We’ve put so much detail into the paintings descriptions that I keep expecting to see them when I enter an Impressionist display. If no one has painted them yet, I definitely think someone should!
I’ll leave the details of how the actual heist was planned, carried out, and (we hope) foiled for readers to discover—we hope you enjoy reading The Heist as much as we enjoyed creating it!
Here’s the blurb to whet your appetite:
A special-order art theft? Tedious, but seamless until small town museum director Kara Daniels calls in the experts. Furious her favorite trio of priceless impressionist paintings has been stolen from its traveling exhibit on her watch, Kara is determined to save not only the paintings, but her future in the art world. She’ll stop at nothing to entrap the thief.
Ted Springs knows the underbelly of the criminal world a little closer than he might like—but he’s turned it to good advantage, first as a police officer, and now as detective for the Upper Midwest Arts Council. His job? To guarantee the security of the valuable paintings in the Council’s traveling exhibits.
Heat sizzles when Ted and Kara collide—can they work together, before it’s too late?

Get Hooked on a Great Rebate! (Suz deMello) (@AllRomance #MFRWAuthor #romance)
SALE!
My publisher, Ellora’s Cave, is holding a fantastic sale over at All Romance Ebooks25% off on all EC titles, including:
The Highland Vampire series, Temptation in Tartan, Desire in Tartan, Rakes in Tartan and Bridling His Vampire;
The Wilder Brother and Seducing the Hermit, which are available in both print and digital formats;
Other novels which aren’t in a series but are pretty good: the BDSM-heavy romantic suspense Phoenix and Dragon and the Queen’s Quest, a futuristic;
Short stories, including the BDSM-laced For My Master and the vampire tale Blood is Thicker They’re both romantic suspense. Plus First and Last, the first story I sold to EC–it’s a futuruistic.
Rakes in Tartan by best-selling author Suz deMello
But don’t wait! This rebate offer is open only until July 31!
Here’s a little about the Highland Vampire series:
Rumors have followed the chieftains of Clan Kilburn for centuries. Said to be descended from the Viking Berserkers, they were ferocious in battle, known for tearing off the heads of their enemies and drinking their blood.
The gossip is frightening, but the reality is even darker.
From the elegant mansions of Mayfair to the mist-shrouded Highlands, the Kilburn vampires hunt, swive and kill. None are immune to their dangerous allure.
And who are the women who would dare to love them?
Here’s a snippet from the latest novel in the series, Rakes in Tartan, a Regency:
Andrew MacReiver surveyed Almack’s and gave silent thanks to whatever gods existed, for the usual throng of shallow London misses had been supplemented by more interesting fare. An older woman, her hair powdered in a bygone style, fluttered her fan, snapped it shut and tapped it firmly in dismissal against the chest of a youth wearing a uniform Andrew did not recognize. She had an aura of command he liked, and he wondered if he’d have the chance to bend her to his will. With luck she’d be a widow in need of entertainment. He approached, noting her gloved left hand did not reveal any evidence of a wedding ring. Fair game, he thought.
He edged closer then stopped short when he recognized her. Not her face, which was powdered, but her generous décolletage…the same chest he’d painted with his spend just the night before.
Like what you read? Score your copy at ARE and use that rebate!
And here’s my ARE author page–check ‘em out and buy liberally–this sale is over at the end of the month!
ENJOY!

The Pleasures of Writing a Series by Jess Michaels
Hi everyone and thanks so much to Suz for having me here today. It’s a very exciting day, as it’s the release date for my latest book, A Matter of Sin. This erotic historical romance is the first in a new series, The Ladies Book of Pleasures, about a very naughty book circulating through the ton and the ripples of passion and love it leaves in its wake for three friends.
I have to admit, I love, love, love writing a series. In fact, most of my books (and all of books as Jess Michaels) have been parts of various series. I started with The Albright Sisters series (Everything Forbidden, Something Reckless, Taboo and Nothing Denied), then I wrote The Mistress Matchmaker series (An Introduction to Pleasure, For Desire Alone and Her Perfect Match) and I just finished The Pleasure Wars a few weeks ago (Taken By the Duke, Pleasuring the Lady, Beauty and the Earl and Beautiful Distraction (which came out just on June 24). And now this newest series, The Ladies Book of Pleasures, will last this whole year (A Matter of Sin, A Moment of Passion October 14, A Measure of Deceit December 9).
What is so appealing to me as a writer in a series? Well, I think it’s the idea of really creating a family of characters. In The Ladies Book of Pleasures the heroines are all best friends. Two of the heroes are also best friends. They know each other, they love each other and I think through their love and caring for each other, my readers get to have a moment in that “family.
I hope they feel like they are part of the friendship the women share, I hope they fall in love with them and feel for Isabel, the heroine of A Matter of Sin, who has been along a long time and longs for a lover. I hope they root for the heroine of the second book, A Moment of Passion, Jacinda, who suffered a TERRIBLE scandal that nearly destroyed her and turns to an old friend for both help and comfort. And I hope they adore Grace, the heroine of the third book, A Measure of Deceit, who is the toughest of the three but also hides the most secrets.
For me, it’s fun to get to know the heroines and heroes of a series and then it just becomes my fervent hope that readers will feel the same way I do.
Series Overview:
The naughty Ladies Book of Pleasures is scandalizing the ton with its erotic descriptions and encouragement of ladies to embrace their sensual sides. But it’s also raising questions along with eyebrows. Who wrote it? Who is reading it? And how many risks will those reading it take to find passion and love?
Description:
The widowed Lady Isabel Avenbury has one remaining younger sister to shepherd into an advantageous marriage, and then she will be free. Free to take a lover to fill her lonely nights—the only option left for a woman on the delicate edge of a certain age.
Except when she chaperones her sister to a country house party, she is taken aback with her sudden, undeniable attraction to the host. And deliciously scandalized when she finds a copy of the notorious, much-gossiped-about Ladies Book of Pleasures in his library.
When Seth Rowland, Marquis Lyndham, notices his book is missing, his interest is piqued as to which of the potential young brides at his party has absconded with it—and shocked to discover it’s Isabel. Though older than the women he’d planned to court, the powerful beauty exudes a sensuality he cannot ignore.
The book inspires them to begin a desperate, passionate affair. But their time together is running out and they must choose. Follow society’s rules, or take a chance at love.
About the author:
Jess Michaels is the author of nearly 50 books under three different names. She currently writes erotic historical romance set in the Regency period. A Beach Read from…Alaska??? (@MFRW_ORG, #beachreadsbloghop #freebie)
Today I step away from my usual publisher to participate in another house’s blog hop, which I’m sure is okay since I’m promoting an Ellora’s Cave title. So thank you, Roane Publishing!
The grand prize in this hop is a Kindle Paperwhite! Yay! I love mine and heartily recommend it. IMO it’s the best dedicated e-reader on the market.
And here’s a summer beach book for ya! Seducing the Hermit , a fun little book I wrote when touring Alaska. I was so inspired by that beautiful state! Its snow-covered mountains, harsh but glorious terrain, open space and freedom attract some very adventurous men.
So why is this the perfect book for your staycation, your road trip or your exotic holiday in the tropics?
Seducing the Hermit is a light, fast, hot and sexy read. And it’s now available in both print and ebook! So whatever format you prefer—it’s available. If you buy paper, you don’t have to switch it off when the plane is landing. You can leave it out overnight and the dew on it will dry, leaving it perfect—same with reading in a bubble bath, glass of wine in hand…I often get “dropsy after my 2d glass.
On top of that, you can feel virtuous about reading this particular bit of sexy fluff. Seducing the Hermit is a retelling of the Fisher King myth that’s set in Alaska (see, erotica writers can be literary too!).
But wait! There’s more! I’ll give away a free digital copy of Seducing the Hermit to the commenter who can correctly answer the following question:
What device does Valerie want to recharge?
Here’s what the book’s about:
Deejay Valerie Percy rejects the phony life she’s led in L.A. and travels to remote Takinsha Island, Alaska, determined to start over. She’s looking for a fuck buddy, an accessory she considers more important than mascara. She wants a warm, outgoing man to laugh with her, hang out with her and shag her silly. She doesn’t think she’ll encounter any difficulty in Alaska, where the odds of men to women are twenty to one. But as the locals say, the odds are good, but the goods are…odd.
Valerie falls for Fisher Chugatt, a loner who doesn’t do relationships. But Cupid has other plans for this couple, and so does Valerie. She doesn’t waste any time seducing Fisher. Sex in the shower, hummers on the couch and a spectacular encounter beneath the northern lights seal the deal in Valerie’s mind. Having fallen in love, she wants it all—home, husband, babies. But shadows from his past may prevent Fisher from committing to anyone…Valerie included.
And here’s an excerpt:
Fisher stepped into the ultrafeminine room on hesitant feet, feeling like an
Seducing the Hermit by Suz deMello
awkward, shambling giant. He bent to touch the pelt on which Valerie lay. The soft, silky fur caressed his fingers. “I brought you the air mattress. His voice sounded as if it had struggled over broken glass to exit his throat.
She watched him, blue eyes glimmering in the shadowed room.
He straightened. “Do you—do you want it?
Setting a glass of wine onto a coaster with a soft click, Valerie uncurled and stretched, as though exhibiting her hourglass body. As she arched her back, her breasts lifted, pressing against her flimsy top. Her blonde, flyaway hair had a just-bedded look.
Fisher began to sweat. This woman was dangerous. Not because she was more sophisticated than any other girl on the island, and he’d met plenty of exotic, interesting females when he’d served in the military. No, there was something about her that he couldn’t identify.
She was all woman, no question about it. He clenched his fists behind his back. He would not touch her.
Now only a foot away from him, she looked him boldly in the eyes. “Yeah, I want it. Her gaze, laden with feminine desire, dropped to his mouth.
Both of them knew she wasn’t talking about the air mattress. He had to say something, anything, before he jumped her bones like the love-starved, pathetic fool he was.
“Did you, uh, know you have your own washer-dryer?”Suave, Fisher, really suave.Jerking his gaze away from her, he reached for the knob of a small closet on his left. Opening it, he showed her the apartment-sized setup.
“Oh, that’s nice. The sexy timbre of Valerie’s voice altered into innocent delight.
He breathed easier. “Works great too. If you ever have a problem, just let me know.
Valerie looked into Fisher’s eyes and smiled. “Yes. Coupled with the female heat in her smile, the implications weighing that one word tied his tongue into twenty knots, sucked every molecule of air from his lungs and forced all the blood in his body southward.
She was temptation incarnate. Though he knew it was wrong, he couldn’t help wanting her, and if he didn’t get out of her orbit soon, he’d kiss her. He’d be a goner. If he kissed her, everything would change.Hewould change, and he couldn’t handle that.
“Th-that is, a problem with anything in the apartment.
She reached down and took a phallus-shaped device from amidst the pelts. “I’m having trouble recharging my massager.
A laugh broke free. “Your massager? Is that what they’re calling them in L.A.?
Straightening, she looked him in the eyes. “Think you can help?
He threw caution to the wind, telling himself that his tangled thoughts about Valerie Percy were nonsense. She was no more compelling than any other woman and wouldn’t have a mysterious hold over him no matter what happened. He grinned at her. “Oh yeah, I’m sure I can help.
Reaching for her, he slid a hand through her tousled hair, sifting the soft, blonde strands through his fingers. Her fragrance rose along with a husky moan from deep in her throat. Sensing that moment was right, he let his palm rest against her nape and drew her close.
***
And they go on…and on…and on

Finding Love Again in Desire in Tartan by Suz deMello (@MySexySaturday #MSS50 #Saturday7 @MFRW_ORG)
Today’s Sexy Saturday snippet has a theme–finding love again after devastating heartbreak.
In Desire in Tartan, Dugald Kilburn is sure he’ll never find love again. Why should he?
He’s certain his lust caused his first wife’s death in childbed, for ’tis rare for vampires and their mates, whether human or fae, to reproduce successfully.
Innocent Alice Derwent presents Dugald with a dilemma. She’s different than any woman he’s known, different and altogether alluring. And while the lady is innocent, her feelings are anything but.
Will he bed and wed the lady, risking her life? Or remain celibate, sparing her?
But when threatened with death, Alice decides she doesn’t want to die without knowing Dugald’s love. Can he resist her charms?
Sawney Bean. Note the woman at the entrance of the cave holding a dismembered limb.
This blog requires seven paragraphs, seven sentences or seven words. Eschewing the challenge presented by giving readers only seven words, here’s my snippet. The setup is that Dugald and Alice have been captured by cannibals, the remains of the evil tribe headed by Sawney Bean. Don’t know who that was?
In the early seventeenth century, Sawney Bean and his wife denned in a sea cave and spawned an extensive clan who lived on the flesh of unwary travelers. When the Beans were captured, their family had numbered about fifty—many the products of incest—and their victims had been innumerable. The Beans cave had been filled with human remains—some fresh, some pickled in brine—with the possessions of the murdered hung from the walls, a grotesque wardrobe.
The Beans were taken to the Tolbooth in Edinburgh and, after a summary trial, executed, the men dismembered and the women burned.
Lovely, hmm? So how would you feel if you’d been captured by cannibals and were awaiting death? And what would you do?
Here’s an excerpt from Desire in Tartan:
Desire in Tartan by Suz deMello
A sob shook her slender frame. “I’m so afraid.Dugald, I…I don’t want to die without knowing the love of a man. Without…your love.
He was struck dumb, then gathered his wits and said, “Och, so that’s the way of it, aye? Lass, doonae be making a quick decision.
“It’s not a quick decision. You must know that. She stroked up and down his torso with quivering fingers, as though she was afeared that her shy explorations would offend him.
“Aye, I ken, he said, recalling their kisses at the inn. So hot and sweet she was. And because he couldnae help himself, because he yearned to touch that sweetness, he bent his head and set his lips onto hers.
An explosion of heat and white light burst through his brain. Like the first time they’d kissed and yet unlike, for this contact was tinctured with fear and longing…her fear and his longing.
He hadnae realized the depth of his loneliness or the reach of his hopes.
He pressed his mouth more firmly to hers and sensed her yielding, her acceptance, her eagerness. Her arms wound around his neck, and she snuggled her slim, lovely body tight to his.

Three Sexy Sentences for Horny Hump Day from Suz deMello (#HornyHDay @MFRW_ORG #MFRWAuthor #BDSM)
But wait! you howl. How can we tell what the story’s about from only three sentences?
Umm…you can’t :( So here’s a blurb:
Agent Kathie Belmont has long lusted after her boss, Ross Guerrero, but has never found the courage to even flirt with him. Could he be the strong but tender Master she craves?
Ross wants Kathie in his life—on her knees. But the constraints of their jobs with an ultra-secret US security
For My Master, BDSM fiction from Ellora’s Cave
agency have come between them.
Then the sadistic drug trafficker El Silencio is tempted into a deal with Ross’s undercover persona—a deal that will go down at a BDSM party. With Kathie disguised as his sex slave, Ross sets out to bring down the criminal gang, and perhaps to tempt Kathie into performing her role for him…forever.
And here are the Horny Hump Day three sentences:
Soft and strong…his mouth was so soft, but there was no mistaking the strength underlying his tenderness. Her master wasn’t afraid to show his gentler side, though he took what he wanted, parting her lips with his, entering her with his tongue, not with force but with a flirtatious flick that teased and tempted.
She gave in to the temptation he offered.
There’s a lot more kinky fun in this story, including a hot 4-way. Check it out at:

A Patriotic Spanking (#SatSpanks #MFRWAuthor @MFRW_ORG #BDSM)
How can a spanking be patriotic?
In For My Master, government agent Kathie Belmont takes it for honor, flag, and country. She’s being trained for an undercover mission in which she’ll masquerade as a submissive. But for Kathie and her boss, Ross Guerrero, the sex isn’t faked.
For My Master, BDSM fiction from Ellora’s Cave
Naked and kneeling on the floor, she wiggled her butt a little, proud to display herself for him. Her slit gaped open, begging without words for his rigid cock to enter her, make her his.
He caressed her silk-clad pussy. She panted and clenched her thighs together, needing the extra stimulation, needing to come.
“No. He slapped her ass with a stinging spank. She drew in a sobbing breath, tears starting in her eyes from sheer emotion.
He was the embodiment of all her dreams.

Wood pressed cool and hard against Kathie’s damp skin. When she stretched out on the table, some of Ross’s jism leaked out of her pussy. Embarrassed, she pressed her thighs together. “I’m, umm, dripping. Sir.
He picked up a wooden spoon and rapped on the wood. “Spread ‘em. From now on, don’t put your knees together. Slaves provide their masters with total access at all times. If you forget this, they’ll finger you as an undercover cop for sure. Next time, this’ll be on your ass. He whacked the spoon against the table again for emphasis then tossed it onto the table with a clatter. “And it won’t feel as good as a spanking.
She spread her legs and arms in an x. “Maybe you should tell them that, uh, I’m in training.
“Oh, I will. Hell, it’ll be the truth. He opened a drawer and took out a clean cloth. He wiped her cunt and the table, placing a light kiss onto her shaved mound before dropping the towel next to her.
He reached for the rope nearest her left wrist. She closed her eyes, wondering what the hell she was doing. The mission, she reminded herself. If this was the only way they could infiltrate the criminals operation, then she’d do whatever she had to do. That she wanted Ross to dominate her was a plus, but she’d never been a submissive before and didn’t know what to expect. Fantasies weren’t reality.
He finished with one wrist and moved to the next. As he tightened the second knot, a delicious lassitude flowed through her body. Her limbs quivered.
So this was submission, the complete release of control to someone she could love and trust. She prayed that Ross wouldn’t abuse that trust.
