Regarding a sequel to Contrition, I envisaged the story as a stand-alone, but if enough readers expressed an interest, I would certainly consider exploring the story further. I have a great fondness for the characters!(less)

I explored everything I wanted to with those characters, that monster, and their situation. I often get asked by readers of Devil Dragon - as well as my other novels and novellas - if I would consider writing prequels, sequels and spin-offs, but to revisit stories risks ruining them. If you like Devil Dragon, you might like my other creature-feature titles.(less)

To be honest, I disliked Clavell's writing style, which I'd describe as ugly but functional. Action scenes felt clumsy and dull. His constant exposition dumps - especially in dialogue - exhausted me. The constant POV head-hopping was so irritating. D ...more

I enjoyed this anthology, especially the classics from the early 1900s. This is a BIG book, so expect many fabulous tales over its 700 pages. (My only complaint would be the constant interruptions from the editor. I already know you love each story, ...more
