My Grandmother is listening to this book on cd and she told me there is a character named Lorraine (Father Tim stops by her house to check on her and finds her door open.) But she doesn't remember who Lorraine is from previous books. Help?

Norfleete Day The name is Irene, not Lorraine, and she does not appear in any of the previous Mitford novels.

I've just purchased this book as it was on offer, but now realise it's part of a series. Is it worth me waiting and reading from Number One, or can I delve straight into this one? :)

If you're interested in that kind of thing, check out the audiobooks read by John McDonough. They're my favourite way to get lost in Mitford!(less)
