This is a question I love asking all my favorite authors (and though yours isn't out quite yet I have a really good feeling that it'll be a new fave of mine): How do you go about the Naming Of Things� in your stories? Specifically with characters, because that's always the part that trips me up when I attempt to write.

I try to mix names with meaning with names that will stick in a reader's mind. That being said, I can easily fall through the research hole with this, so I'll often use placeholder names if I know I want to pick something good later. For The City of Brass, my MCs names were a mix of this. "Nahri" is a nickname calling back to the character's origins (nahr is river in Arabic), I named my hero "Ali" after another Muslim hero, and Dara...well I just always liked the sound of it!

I want to let you know that i enjoyed the book very much and i am looking forward for the next installments in the trilogy. your work rekindled my love for arabian nights and reminded me of how much i loved those stories as a kid. I read your blog post about the middle eastern literature and added them to my to-read list. Do you also draw inspiration from any asian/indian literary classics?

Last week I finished "City of Brass" and had NO idea I was stepping into a series of books. Not that I'm complaining because the story is amazing. I see the next installment is expected in 2018 - any hints as to when in 2018? I don't know how much longer I can wait to read the next one... ^_^
