How is it ? As good as the Netflix's tv-show?

Judy The Netflix series is obviously more visual. The plot lines are a little different, they go into some characters more deeply, i.e. Anthony and his paramours, Benedict and his friends/lovers, Colin and the Marina scenario, and the book does skim over Berbrooke. I believe that most of these storylines will come up in subsequent books. After all, there are 7 other books to go. But, I believe, at least for me, the first one you see is almost always better. When I'm shopping online and there are multiple options...colours/patterns, the first one that I see is always better. Same with movies. Pride and Prejudice with Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle will always be my favorite.
Diana Schnoor Well, that's a first. A show being better than the book it was based on!
Ashley I agree with Kelly. I just finished reading the book (after watching the TV series) and thought the show was much better. More characters and dramatic situations in the show. Maybe I would have enjoyed the book more if I hadn't seen the show first?
Kelly No, to me the show was much better!
Barry Haworth I've just read the book after watching the show, and I think this is one of those rare cases where the show is better than the book it's based on. I wasn't terribly impressed with the quality of the writing. It draws you in and tells the story, and is a very light and easy read, but by the same token it felt very shallow and sensationalised (at least to me).
Maria Rose I am one of those people who usually read the books before I watch a screen adaption but with this series, I did watch the screen adaption before I got the books to read. Naturally, the screen adaptation gives you a more visual picture of the entire surroundings of the people involved in the story, but the book gives you more depth to the storyline, which may affect how you view each character, but the screen adaption did make this series more inclusive of a larger population because of the actors chosen to fill the different roles. You will enjoy both just a bit differently.
Kristy smith I personally think you can't pin them against eachother... the show is about the whole family, you have so many different dramatic plots added (the prince, the queen, the whole featheringtons plot) and a lot more characters go more in depth in the show (lady danbury, Eloise, Colin & marina) so to me the book was a lot more if not fully about the romance between Simon and Daphne (and almost all the scenes they had in the show are different from the book) so I personally would say yes the book is better than the show purely because its about their romance and not everyone else's things :)
