Regarding the amazing Zom-B series, was there a moment of "too much familiarity" in the news regarding COVID-19 at any point? The series got even more gripping for me, then - it was too realistic during the re-read. Was there any feeling of pride, having written something that was so clever it actually came too close to reality, or more worry? (What would Dr Oystein say?)
Darren Shan
The most worrying "reality mirror" for me has been the rise of the far right, and how openly extremists have lied to the public and found favour. I thought with the Board that I was perhaps going too OTT, and that nobody could believe such an organisation could ever exist, but now I wonder if I maybe downplayed the possibilities slightly... :-)

Hi Darren, Big fan of your books and always found it super cool that like me, you're London-born in Ireland :) Fine company! Anyways.... for obvious reasons excluding Darren from the Cirque Du Freak, which of your characters is most similar to you personally? Was there ever a character you wrote for that said things you'd say yourself or just similar personality wise?
