I just finished reading Descent. Bravo! You completely drew me in with your exceptional writing. You were spot-on with the emotional aspect of your characters. There are so many, many of us who are awaiting your next offering. Any trickle of a hint when that may be and what you may be leaning towards?

Tim Johnston Thank you so much for those kind words, Linda, and for reading my book. The answer is, I hope to have a new book out by 2017, and it will be in a similar vein as Descent, in that it will be a story about a number of characters brought together--as opposed to torn apart--by random acts of violence & one old, unsolved murder. Thank you for helping to spread the word about Descent--that makes all the difference in the life of a book!!!

Dear Tim Johnston, I'm halfway through "Descent" and am totally hooked--I will probably finish it in another day or so. The sense of place and setting is so strong. To me, it feels as though the Rockies are a character in this story. They seem so menacing, constantly looming over everything... My question is, what inspired this setting choice? Did you live in Colorado or visit this area before writing the book?
