A**spoiler alert** With the exception of a slightly anticlimactic ending, this was a quite enjoyable read for those who enjoy books with BDSM themes. Ava and Roman were well-matched in a damaged kind of way and I liked the premise of a reality show bringing them together.
I just feel like there were a bunch of threads left hanging at the end. Does Rebecca ever get what's coming to her? Does Anthony? Do we ever find out who Roman is? I mean, he has to own the resort, right?

Nash and Tally are childhood friends, reunited now that they're all grown up. They each have so much baggage though, I'm surprised they're able and willing to give each other a chance. Tally has struggled with the idea that she's a failure and Nash is the nerdy boy who started college by 16. Because of this, they both come across as damaged and unable to get over their past.
Also, there were some things that, because I didn't read the first Cottonbloom book, didn't make sense. That said, there is something about this quirky little town that's half in Mississippi and half in Louisiana that makes me want to know more....more

A cute story with a whole lotta heart, This Loving Feeling combines a second chance at love with an adorable 5 year old and leaves you feeling all kinds of warm and fuzzy. Lukas and Sam were drawn together when they were younger, but an interfering family and insecurities kept them away. The town of Mirror Lake is like another character in this book with all the town's busybodies having a say in Lukas and Sam's relationship.
Overall, a very cute story that will have me reading Liasson again....more

While the romance was very heartfelt and those kids were just the cutest, there was some pretty heavy stuff going on that I wasn't prepared for. Now I haven't read the book where Andie's attack happened, but I would have appreciated more of a recap. Instead, we just got a few lines here and there and had to piece it together ourselves. The same was true for Marshall's family history. I kept getting the feeling that I was supposed to know more and didn't. That didn't lessen my enjoyment of the read, just a commentary.
Overall, a cute story with a lot of emotion....more

I do have to say, I'm not a fan of Sydney and if Mann's next book is about her and Tucker, I'm going to have a hard time finding her likeable.

I like the town of Whiskey Creek, having read a few books, but they always just miss the mark for being a 4 star book. I liked the intrigue of this one with the bitter ex-wife, Noelle, causing Kyle so much trouble. At the same time, it was bugging me that 5 years after their divorce, he was still falling victim to her ruses. Also, I think he moved way way way too fast with Lourdes. Not with the getting involved - there were clearly sparks and chemistry - but with the end before she left for Nashville. They had only spent 3 weeks together and he's already got them walking down the aisle. And there were whole plot points that went unresolved - the whole online dating thing felt forced, as did Lourdes' relationship with Crystal. The romance was cute, but just not quite there for me....more

I did get confused between the two brothers - I kept losing track of which one had passed and which one was there, so that was a bit annoying. I also felt like neither character was clear on what they wanted and I was sad that Lucas didn't see how proposing to Ellie for the sake of the baby was exactly what she didn't want. To be honest, I was more intrigued by the Blaine/Victoria story and wanted more of that. ...more

I enjoyed the intrigue of finding out who really killed Landon's mom and I liked Landon's standing up to his father. Okay, now that that's settled, I adored Fred and Rachel. Having read a few of Bernard's books, I was well acquainted with the San Gabriel firehouse and "Stud" did not disappoint. I really enjoyed the entire premise of their situation with him guarding her because her kidnapper was still around and I loved her dedication to animals. I really wanted to like this book more than I did...really. I mean, bull riders? What's not to like? The issue came with the fact that there were so many moving parts. I couldn't keep all of the different riders straight, and then you start adding in June's family, Mitch's mom, Travis' ex, plus all the people working around the rodeo. I couldn't remember who supported June, who hated her, etc. I did like the story, I thought there was definite potential there, but it didn't seem fleshed out enough......more
