Welcome back Sophie. All the very best with the interview, one of my neighbours works at the library head office.

Welcome to the group Ally :)
Hello, I'm Katherine and I live in Yorkshire.
Somehow, I missed the 50 Book Challenge thread on MN until yesterday. I saw the link to this group and thought it looked interesting - so I took the plunge and joined.

Hello Katherine. You are welcome join in on the challenges and the monthly reads. Feel free to add me as a friend

We're a friendly bunch over here :) We're an open group, but a lot of us are also on MN!
We have a monthly group read. The books we're currently reading are The Silver Linings Playbook, Findings and The Color Purple. Next month we're reading We Need to Talk About Kevin and Falling in Honey: Life and Love on a Greek Island. by Jennifer Barclay
Thank you for the welcome, Paul and Elizabeth. I'm still finding my way around Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ - I have been on here for a couple of years but it's only in the last two months that I've been 'active', as it were.
Welcome Katherine. I kept my GR private for a while too. In fact at first just used it as a way of logging what I'd read. Am a bit more sociable now :)
That's very impressive, Paul. Makes my reading list look positively pathetic ;-)
Hi Chantal. I am trying to be a bit more sociable too. Trouble is that I forget how long things in RL take and I take on more than I should; so that often means the things that I do for me (reading, knitting) tend to be neglected. I am 7 books behind on my reading challenge already.:-(

Hello Jen, thanks for the welcome.
I can understand that Katherine. I read when I can but these last few weeks for example have been mega busy: we've had family visiting us and then gone to visit others. Not the sort of hols you can sneak off quietly with a book/kindle, sadly!
I stopped doing the challenges after a couple as I didn't like the feeling of having to reach a target, even though it's obviously a self-determined goal. Everyone's different though and I do like seeing others meet their challenges :)

My name is Evan, live in the USA, near Boston, MA. My life has been given back to me 11 times, 6 time cancer survivor, hit by a car 3 times...write Amish fiction, read clise to 125 books a year, new member..

I am an American who has lived in France for 22 years. So many of my American friends are in (face-to-face) book groups and I have felt kind of jealous of them, so I looked for a group today and this one seemed great.
I teach college English as Foreign Language in Rodez in the Aveyron department.
Looking forward to participating!

Welcome to the group, Betty :D. I hope you'll enjoy being a member of The Book Vipers. There's plenty to do on here. It's not too late to have a go at one of our challenges, or join in with our book of the month read which is currently The Silver Linings Playbook (fiction) and Findings (non-fiction).
Next month our fiction choice will be We Need to Talk About Kevin by Lionel Shriver. A controversial book, which should lead to an interesting discussion.
