FL1: Team #5 ~ Femforce Five

Any suggestions for team names? I am the least creative person, but I will try to think of a few suggestions.

Any volunteers for team captain? I've never done it before but can do it if no one else wants to.

All I came up with was a pathetic High Five. Thanks for all of the creative suggestions, Julianne.

Team captains, you may now draw a card and get your team on the board. This week, each team will move on the board. From this week forward, however, in order for your team to move forward, all members must have read, rated and reviewed their book by this time (give or take) next week.![]()

Book: Thirst - LA Larkin
Completed: 01/28

Review: Luke and his group of fellow scientists are studying glacial movement in Antarctica when they are attacked by a mysterious group led by a wealthy Chinese business man. Lots of action, ice-climbing, snowmobile riding, etc... Not bad for a kindle freebie.

Title: A Brief History of Montmaray by Michelle Cooper
Date completed: January 29, 2013
Rating: 4-Stars
Review: Sophie, our narrator, is the princess of a small island of Montmaray (pop. 11 on a good day). Her newly gifted journal allows her to document daily life in their aging castle (or 'fortified house' as her cousin, Veronica would say). It was very easy to love Sophie and the gang as well as Montmaray itself, because Cooper does a wonderful job bringing them to life. Although the plot isn't really action-packed, the story is unique and you can't help but root for this family in their crumbling castle with all the signs of its former glory around them. I'll definitely be reading the next in this trilogy.

Book: Stolen by Kelley Armstrong
Completed: January 30, 2013
Rating: ★★★★
Review: I put off reading this book for a while because I found the first one a little slow...well slow this wasn't. Elena finds herself 'Stolen' and being kept in an underground facility with other supernatural beings she didn't even know existed. I was on the edge of my seat for almost the entire book. I absolutely can't wait to get started on the next book.

Yeah exactly. I hate having to wait forever for the next book in a series to come out.

Blood Winter is the fourth installment in the Horngate Witches series. I just recently read it may be the last book of the series, but I hope not. Horngate is set in an intriguing world, post magical apocalypse Montana. There are many complex characters, but Max is my favorite. She would lay down her life for her people no matter what. Max faces off against a new threat to Horngate in Benjamin Sterling, a blood witch who is amassing his own followers. His goal is to destroy all other magical beings and take their magical powers for himself. The action is well paced and there was a twist with Sterling's accomplice that I did not see coming. I enjoyed the progression of Max and Alexander's relationship, and even though it floundered during the course of the book, the ending was appropriate. I hope this author has another series or book in the works soon.

My phone dropped and shattered so that is actually how I get my internet (even when I'm on the PC ). I can still use my son's phone (as I am now) and my bf's but I may not be able to get on right away tomorrow, I'll be able to do it for sure by 7pm Pacific time (normally it would be 1:30 Pacific). Hopefully that's ok with everyone, unless someone else wants to draw the card for tomorrow.

The Cat's Meow by Stacy Kennedy
Book Completed: 27 January 2013
Rating: ★★★★
A new author for me and I picked it up due to the cover. I enjoyed the story and will definitely continue with the series, but I wish there had been romance between the main characters. The mystery that Libby and Kale were brought together to solve was the main focus of the story and their romance developed as the two of them were forced to work together. Liked the twists and turns and was pleasantly surprised at the end. Overall a good read.
