Heidi Hi, I'm Heidi. I love reading and all types of books, but YA is my favorite. I'm a lawyer and a busy mom, but I love to write and my ultimate goal is to one day become a published author. We'll see... I read basically everything I can get my hands on and write in my spare time. :)

Hayley Dick (pigeonie) | 9 comments Hi! My name is Hayley and I love to read! My favourite genre is YA Contemporary and the occasional sci-fi/fantasy book. I love to write fantasy stories because I love making up new worlds, people and not having to stick to any rules about it! My absolute favourite book is 'It's Kind of a Funny Story' by Ned Vizzini! I'm super excited to be a part of this group!

message 303: by Jordan (new)

Jordan Sky (jordansky) | 8 comments Hello I'm Jordan

I have loved YA since Sweet Valley High first appeared in my library in Brighton, England. I became obsessed with those twins and wanted to read more YA books. Today though I'm no longer considered a youth I still love those books. I'm currently working on my own YA series.

message 304: by Chelsi (new)

Chelsi (angel5508) | 1 comments Hi, I'm Chelsie. :)

I love books, mostly YA books. Especially dystopias with a cute romance. I love sci-fi and fantasy too. Sometimes I get high over a book. (Ok that actually happens quite a lot.) I get so excited when a book comes out, I rush to buy it, and then I don't even read it for a while. Anyway, Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ is my favorite site and this group seems really nice.

Hi Court,

Can I call you that? I don't know you but I assume since you're told that you're amazing it must be true.

I've finished reading The Gamble by Kristen Ashley and Origin by Jennifer L.Armentrout and right now I'm zooming my way through Gone by Micahel Grant. And no, I'm not a professional writer but I do write in my spare time. :)

message 325: by Camy (new)

Camy (camytang) Hi! My name is Camy Tang. I write romantic suspense, contemporary romance, and right now I'm working on a Regency romantic suspense, and next year I hope to write a YA. I absolutely love reading YA fiction--dystopian is my fav but I also love paranormal and speculative. I've been working with my church youth group for almost 17 years and strangely, they don't think I'm too weird. :) Nice to meet everyone!

message 326: by Miriam (new)

Miriam (miriammathew) Hey Camy! It's great to have you in YAholics Anonymous!! I love reading regency romantic suspense so whenever you finish, I'll probably be the first in line :) Also we hold writing challenges if you want to join them.

Aside from all that, check out our book reads and games ! They're pretty popular and I would love to see what thoughts you can provide to our general discussions.

message 327: by Camy (new)

Camy (camytang) Thanks Miriam! You guys seem like a pretty active group, which is really cool. I have to admit I joined the group as soon as I saw all the books in your group banner, many of which are some of my favorite reads. :)

Hi Jordan!
The "Blue Bloods" series is great! The author adds some interesting historical twists throughout, and you easily fall in love with the main characters. The companion books are nice as well.

message 329: by Kyra (new)

Kyra Hello, my name is Kyra and I love to read YA books. My favorite YA author is Ellen Hopkins. I hope to make new friends and receive recommendations.

message 330: by Izzy (new)

Izzy (izzybookholics) Hi and welcome Kyra!!

message 331: by Miriam (new)

Miriam (miriammathew) I second Izabella :) It's wonderful to have you in the group, Kyra!! You're sure to make lots of friends here! :D I love to read YA books as well, although I have't read any books by Ellen Hopkins. I know, shame on me but I'm planning to!

message 332: by Kyra (new)

Kyra Thanks for the welcome.

message 333: by Kim (new)

Kim | 15 comments Hi my name is Kim. I like a various different expanse of genres in books which includes YA also. In YA I like dystopia and speculative fiction the best. In YA I also like paranormal, romance, and clean coming of age. I read and have read a lot of first time YA authors before they become popular. I must have discerning tastes because they all become popular eventually. If a YA book becomes a movie, my husband is a good sport and lets me drag him to see it with me.

message 334: by Camy (new)

Camy (camytang) Aw, you have a great husband! :)

message 335: by Kim (new)

Kim | 15 comments Thanks Camy! My husband is a good sport. I think the "Hunger Games" is the only one of the dozens of movies based on YA books he enjoyed through out. He does have his limits in other genres. He absolutely will not watch Regency/Georgian era period movies or movies where they sing through out. So yeah no Jane Austen movies or movies based on Broadway musicals *lol*.

message 336: by Camy (new)

Camy (camytang) Austen movies are out for my hubby too, but he has watched Singin' in the Rain with me and he enjoys watching Glee. :)

I'm Lily Mhaye and I think it's pretty obvious I'm new here. I'm a certified YA fan who's desperately in search of other fans who could understand me better. Basically because many people around my environment don't get books. So I would really like to have friends here, am I welcome? :)

message 344: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Hi people! I'm Sarah. I love YA books in general, but personally I think a lot of them are cliche and annoying. Like The Selection (the one thing you should know about me is that I absolutely HATE The Selection). I like a lot of different TV shows and the movie Pacific Rim and I love to run. Ummm that's it! Can't wait to get involved in this group. :)
