Marina H | 272 comments 1. Which hour was most daunting for you?
From around hour 7 I had to go to bed. It had been a long day, and I needed some sleep.

2. Do you have any suggestions for how to improve the the next Read-a-thon?
I think you have done a good job. The only thought I had was if it been an idea to start at 8:00 am UTC. It just seemed like it started really late in the night for some people (in Asia for example). But of course it has to work for the mods.

3. What did you enjoy most about the Read-a-Thon?
Having an excuse to read more :)

4. How many books did you read?
I finished the second half of one book, and have read just about the first half of another, so all together I have read one book at around 400 pages. Not much when you think about it.

5. What were the names of the books you read?
Nomade by Ayaan Hirsi Ali and Efterskælv by Arne Dahl

6. Which book did you enjoy most?
I enjoyed both books

7. Which did you enjoy least?
None of them

8. How likely are you to participate in the next Read-a-thon?
If it's a weekend where I don't have plans, it's very likely that I would participate again

400 pages is a lot!

I had very lofty goals and then life got in the way a little. But that's okay :)

It just doesn't feel like a lot. But as you say, life got in the way :)

1. Which hour was most daunting for you? When I had to wake up this morning to manage the read-a-thon :p

3. What did you enjoy most about the Read-a-Thon?
Having Laura by my side to post the topics and find the ideas!

4. How many books did you read?
Finished 1 book, 2 graphic novels and read half of another book :)
So, near 500 pages for the books!

5. What were the names of the books you read?
Books: Big Little Lies and Fées, Weed and Guillotine.
Graphic novels: Lumberjanes vol 1 and iZombie vol 1.

6. Which book did you enjoy most?
I think it's Big Little Lies but everything was interesting and fun.

7. Which did you enjoy least?
iZombie was a little bellow my expectations because it's different from the TV show and I like the story from the TV better.

8. How likely are you to participate in the next Read-a-thon?
If I'm free, I'll be happy to participate.

goldberry (missgoldberry) | 17 comments 1. Which hour was most daunting for you?
I was busy during the day (read-a-thon started at 5 p.m. for me) so I tried to catch at night. Around 4 a.m. I was very tired!

2. Do you have any suggestions for how to improve the the next Read-a-thon?
I think everything was organised very well. Maybe start at a time more comfortable for people from different time zones.

3. What did you enjoy most about the Read-a-Thon?
Reading a lot and reading everyone's comments here.

4. How many books did you read?
I finished two books that I started before Read-a-Thon and a little bit of two other books.

5. What were the names of the books you read?
I finished two books: the last 100 pages of The Shamer's Signet, ~150 pages of A Very Long Engagement. I also read 93 pages of The Strangled Queen and about 30 pages of The Storyteller. So I read about 370 pages.

6. Which book did you enjoy most?
The Storyteller, I think but I read a very small part of it, so maybe A Very Long Engagement.

7. Which did you enjoy least?
All books were very interesting and enjoyable.

8. How likely are you to participate in the next Read-a-thon?
Very likely, if I'm not too busy.

The Storyteller is on my list for the book I didn't finish it. I tend to not finish books so there were plenty of contenders ;) But I abandoned that one around Christmas when I had new and shiny books to compete with it. I was really enjoying it so I know I want to finish it.

Zaz, I think we make a good team :)

message 9: by goldberry (new)

goldberry (missgoldberry) | 17 comments I absolutely love The Storyteller, you should finish it :)
I'm still trying to find a book for that week. I try to finish every book I start and I only abandon books that I really dislike. So I still haven't picked a book for DNF week :D

6. Which book did you enjoy most?
The Summer I Turned Pretty

7. Which did you enjoy least?

Anastasia (anastasiaharris) | 319 comments 1. I found it difficult to do the daylight hours. My family, who usually wants down time without Mom, suddenly wanted my constant attention. It was easier to get in reading time after they all went to bed.
In fact they left me alone to read more today then yesterday. :)

3. I enjoyed the games and support

4. 1 and 1/2

5. Finished the last half of A Dragon-Lover's Treasury of the Fantastic
Completed Tailchaser's Song

6. I enjoyed both

8. I would participate again. This time I may just send my family on errands, or just not tell them what I am doing.

message 12: by Monique (new)

Bana AZ (anabana_a) | 414 comments 1. Which hour was most daunting for you?
--I think the tenth hour because I just woke up and realized that I haven't read much yet.

2. Do you have any suggestions for how to improve the the next Read-a-thon?
--Keep to the easy games I guess. I noticed some of the posts didn't have a lot of people answering them. Like for me, I didn't answer the zombie one and trivia one because they required too much brain work for a sleepy person. I really likes the others, though, especially the A-Z titles and characters. :) Great work, mods!

3. What did you enjoy most about the Read-a-Thon?
--The A-Z games, oh yeah, and the mad libs too!

4. How many books did you read?
--Some parts of two books

5. What were the names of the books you read?
--What the Dog Saw and Other Adventures and A Thousand Acres

6. Which book did you enjoy most?
--What the Dog Saw and Other Adventures

7. Which did you enjoy least?
--A Thousand Acres but only because I only got 30 pages in.

8. How likely are you to participate in the next Read-a-thon?
--I'd really like to, but it depends on what I'm doing that day.

Luisa, I'm really glad that you enjoyed it so much :)

Ana, I really appreciate the feedback! We tried to make the activities easy since the focus is obviously on reading. So I'm happy you enjoyed a lot of them :)

2. Do you have any suggestions for how to improve the the next Read-a-thon? I think some of the games were too hard. I just wanted to pop in to the hour posts to see how everyone else was doing.

4. How many books did you read? Finished 1 book from start to finish. I didn't do the whole 24 hours, I slept at nighttime, and I was busy some parts of the day, but I was happy I finished one whole book.
