Leanne (littlebunnylibrary) I'd appreciate any suggestions for the Western category - I don't like the look of any of the recommendations under the genre heading -they all look like romances/erotica of some description! I'm going to have enough trouble with those genres as it is!

message 12: by Liz (new)

Liz Hunt | 104 comments Th Western I chose was John Steinbeck which is more if a contemp classic but still counts. I don't know if u can stomach him but I figured that was easiest

I don't like most westerns (or romances) either, but try Lonesome Dove. It is awesome.

I'm planning on reading Battleborn byClaire Vaye Watkins as my western. Not a big fan of the genre, but this one won a few awards last year.

I love your idea of a personal stretch challenge.
Added it to my list, so thanks

M.L. | 309 comments My goal for this challenge upgrade was to start off January 1 with an upbeat read.
First book read, philosophy, Peanuts Guide to Life by Charles M. Schulz.
As Bill Cosby says in the intro, 'small package, large sense of humor, and big ideas'.
Under People Skills, "If you can't beat 'em, cooperate 'em to death." :)
