DHASG January Challenge

Introduction: A new year is upon us--2014. With our first challenge of the year, we get to explore January and reading. Let's see what this first month of the year has in store for us.


Instructions:

1. Each participant can can sign up at any time from the opening of thread and post their final stats when finished.
2. Books must be read between January 1st and January 31st, 2013.
3. One book counts for one part of the challenge.
4. Books can be of any genre unless specifically stated.


Levels

1. Resolution, Books, Books, and More Books!: Read 8-10 books.
2. New Year, New Books!: Read 5-7 books.
3. Snow Day: Read 3-4 books.


1.Auld Lang Syne!: In honor of the new year, you can count any book you want to read.
2.New Year's Resolution: Read a book that represents a common New Year's Resolution that people have.
3.Old Man Winter: Old Man Winter is the personification of winter, also known as Father Frost or Jack Frost. For this part of the challenge, read a book that represents the person of winter.
4.Martin Luther King, Jr. Day: On the third Monday of January, the United States celebrates the life and legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr., the chief spokesperson for the nonviolent civil rights movement in the United States. Read a book with a main character who fights for justice for all people and speaks out against prejudice.
5.Happy January Birthdays!: Pick one of the below folks who have a birthday this month and read a book that represents them to you. Indicate what you used them for in parentheses: Paul Revere, J. Edgar Hoover, Isaac Asimov, J.R.R. Tolkien, Mel Gibson, Joan of Arc, Nicolas Cage, Elvis Presley, Richard M. Nixon, Benedict Arnold, Benjamin Franklin, Al Capone, A.A.
