Grace (Calcat) | 665 comments Meg do you have the quote and the page or Loc please.

message 1152: by Megan (new)

Megan | 1607 comments For the rest of the words we need 1 H,
1 D, 1 G, 1 E and 1 N
what are we waiting for regarding these? I know Grace you said something about waiting for them but what did you mean? Do we need someone to read books that would match this??

I've put The Mistake for that goal Meg I'll add in the location if you can get it.

New Goal is: Read a book shelved (listed on the first page of the "top shelves" of the book) as 2013 - plurals and minor spelling variations are acceptable

Current Goals
Read a book with the phrase ""all ears"" in a book
Read a book where a character is an undertaker
Read a book where the title starts with the letter O
Read a book where a character's first name starts with the letter O
Read a book shelved (listed on the first page of the "top shelves" of the book) as 2013 - plurals and minor spelling variations are acceptable

message 1153: by Grace (new)

Grace (Calcat) | 665 comments Megan I don't think The mistake works. I searched my Kindle and I couldn't find the phrase "The Fool" just, a fool , my fool, to fool. So I was leaving it until Meg confirmed the sentence she had found it in in case I was missing it.

As for the waiting the missing letters are all common ones and I suggested waiting to see if some of the books were more useful for goals but we have all of them covered so we can finish if you like.

message 1154: by megan (new)

megan | 1477 comments Oh, no the fool. Just fool. Sorry

message 1155: by Megan (new)

Megan | 1607 comments Right I've got a book I'll read for it.

message 1156: by Grace (new)

Grace (Calcat) | 665 comments Ok Thanks Megan.

Will I just fill in the Australia Day words and get it out of the way ?

Megan | 1607 comments Grace wrote: "Ok Thanks Megan.

If we have words that match then sure, I wasn't sure what matched so I didn't add them in previously

message 1158: by Grace (new)

Grace (Calcat) | 665 comments Meg wrote: "Oh, no the fool. Just fool. Sorry"

The Tarot card one have to match the card name exactly, there can be some leeway with other words and phrase goals not those ones.

message 1159: by Grace (new)

Grace (Calcat) | 665 comments I have completed it and our very sparse Goalless books page is up to date.

message 1160: by Megan (new)

Megan | 1607 comments The fool goal sorted out.

Wow is that the only 'goalless' books we have! That's sort of amazing!

message 1161: by Grace (last edited Jan 12, 2016 03:56AM) (new)

Grace (Calcat) | 665 comments Thanks Megan. Our team is amazing so there were another 4 books to add to the list this morning. I have a few more on the go.

I finally finished The Paper Swan by Leylah Attar I did not like that book.

message 1162: by Grace (new)

Grace (Calcat) | 665 comments New Goal
Read a book that "Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ recommends" based on your ; or a team-mates ; tower teams shelf (go to recommendations --> recommendations by shelf (on right) --> your TT shelf name)

message 1163: by Megan (new)

Megan | 1607 comments Currently I have four books on the go. Its out of hand. Two paperbacks and two kindle/ebooks. Just haven't got a heck of a lot of time to read them all.

But yes our team is amazing! :-)

Stacey (boydsmom) | 1377 comments I finally finished The Paper Swan by Leylah Attar I did not like..."

Grace, I really didn't care for that one either. Apparently we are in a very small minority! I just thought they were all ridiculous. I think I may take a break from the back room BOMs, between that one and Bound--UGH.

I'm working on finishing A Darker Shade of Magic this week and have another going on Kindle and one on audio. I have a day off tomorrow--so hoping to get some good reading time in.

message 1165: by Megan (new)

Megan | 1607 comments I can read a book for that goal. The Crescent is on my recommendations for my tower team shelf. Not sure how you show this for a goal tho?

message 1166: by Grace (new)

Grace (Calcat) | 665 comments LOL Meg I have 7 on the go, I know I am insane, I have a few longer ones started and a couple that will be finished soon but no doubt I will start another one or three.

I started The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah for BOM, we have DQs for it for the last day.

message 1167: by Grace (new)

Grace (Calcat) | 665 comments Stacey glad I am not the only one. I found it was so predictable and I just didn't care about any of them. I am going to read Him (Him #1) by Sarina Bowen as I have it and it can't be worse than the other two.

Megan I think you just state that it was on your recommendations when you fill in the goal. I have lots of Christmas ones in my selection.

message 1168: by Megan (new)

Megan | 1607 comments Ah okay,

I'm trying to read the BOM A Darker Shade of Magic and its a massive snooze fest for me. It isn't bad like the writing is good but the story line is just so boring. Can't put my finger on why....

I didn't finish it the first time I tried to read it but ended up liking it this time. It is a bit slow.

message 1170: by Megan (new)

Megan | 1607 comments I can't put my finger on it. It just doesn't do it for me.

I left work at 7 minutes past 7, it is now 7:51. I am knackered. My drive home is only 20 minutes well meant to be. 2 accidents on one road like a mile apart, and then the motorways are bad due to another accident and a car broken down. I am so done. I think this will be me done for doing anything with the sheet tonight, and tomorrow.

message 1171: by megan (new)

megan | 1477 comments The current goals are pretty crappy.

Grace (Calcat) | 665 comments Meg wrote: "The current goals are pretty crappy."

I know not the best I have one that might work for undertaker. I have covered O character.

message 1173: by Grace (new)

Grace (Calcat) | 665 comments New Goal
Read a book where there is only "one left" (could be one chance left, one survivor, etc.)

message 1174: by Grace (new)

Grace (Calcat) | 665 comments Megan How are you doing today ? I hope yesterday wasn't too hard on you.

message 1175: by Megan (last edited Jan 14, 2016 08:36AM) (new)

Megan | 1607 comments Hi Grace, I'm ok. Abit more down than I was yesterday as my dad is at work so I'm on my own today but it was ok. Went to see family and they cheered us both up. I'm in a bit of a I don't know what to do with myself mood. I start watching a video and turn it off after 5 minutes. I start reading and get bored.
Me and the dog are just cuddling on the bed together all day. Its been a lazy day. Thank you for asking btw

message 1176: by Stacey (new)

Stacey (boydsmom) | 1377 comments I finished A Darker Shade of Magic this morning (I'll update my BOM info when I get home) and as far as we know Kell is the only Ansari left. Would that work for the goal?

message 1177: by Grace (new)

Grace (Calcat) | 665 comments Megan I think your mood is understandable. Glad your family was there for you and your dad.

Stacey That might work for the goal. I have one for Undertaker.

message 1178: by Grace (new)

Grace (Calcat) | 665 comments New Goal

Read a book where the author's first name is one of the top 100 female names in Scotland according to nameberry ()

message 1179: by Megan (last edited Jan 15, 2016 12:48AM) (new)

Megan | 1607 comments Finally finished that A Darker Shade of Magic woo. It wasn't too bad of an ending. I actually enjoyed the last 50 pages...
I have a book for that goal. I'm already reading Houston, We Have A Problem and the author is called Erin which is 31st on the list. I'm like 75% through.

Abinormal Grace wrote: "New Goal

Brother will work for one survivor, I finished it a few days ago

message 1181: by Megan (new)

Megan | 1607 comments Abbie, I think a book was already used for that goal
New goals
Read a book shelved (listed on the first page of the "top shelves" of the book) as summer - plurals and minor spelling variations are acceptable
Read a book where a character gains independence

message 1182: by Grace (new)

Grace (Calcat) | 665 comments Our current Goals are:

°Read a book with the phrase "all ears" in a book
°Read a book where the title starts with the letter O
°Read a book shelved (listed on the first page of the "top shelves" of the book) as summer - plurals and minor spelling variations are acceptable
°Read a book where a character gains independence
°Read a book with the name of the tarot card "The Hanged Man" in the text or title

message 1183: by Grace (new)

Grace (Calcat) | 665 comments We have a boon to use tomorrow . I have The Hanged Man (Her Majesty's Psychic Service, #1) by P.N. Elrod for that one.

I think the "all ears" one unless we get something worse before the deadline.

message 1184: by Megan (new)

Megan | 1607 comments All ears or the hanged man one... both equally annoying

message 1185: by Grace (new)

Grace (Calcat) | 665 comments Megan wrote: "All ears or the hanged man one... both equally annoying"

I have a book for Hanged Man almost finished.

message 1186: by megan (new)

megan | 1477 comments Oh yeah that hanged man is going to be a tough one too.

message 1187: by Grace (new)

Grace (Calcat) | 665 comments Hanged Man done

New Goal

Read a book where MCs attends a concert/art exhibit/theater show

message 1188: by Grace (new)

Grace (Calcat) | 665 comments Our current Goals are:

°Read a book with the phrase "all ears" in a book
°Read a book shelved (listed on the first page of the "top shelves" of the book) as summer - plurals and minor spelling variations are acceptable
°Read a book where a character gains independence
°Read a book where MCs attends a concert/art exhibit/theatre show
°Read a book that is set in a medieval time period (between 5th to the 15th century)

message 1189: by Grace (new)

Grace (Calcat) | 665 comments The all ears one is still looking like the most likely to use our boon on.

Will anyone complete something that fits one of the other goals before the deadline ?

message 1190: by megan (new)

megan | 1477 comments Nope, go for it

message 1191: by Grace (new)

Grace (Calcat) | 665 comments New Goal

Read a book with only one eye on the cover

message 1192: by Stacey (new)

Stacey (boydsmom) | 1377 comments So... only an eye? Or can the one eye be on half a face?

message 1193: by Grace (new)

Grace (Calcat) | 665 comments Stacey wrote: "So... only an eye? Or can the one eye be on half a face?"

That should be fine, I think there can be other objects on the cover just only one eye.

message 1194: by Grace (new)

Grace (Calcat) | 665 comments Looks like some teams are getting close let us know if you are working on any of the current goals or if you want to use the mega boon

message 1195: by Audrey Jane (new)

Audrey Jane | 1743 comments I've just finished Uprooted and enjoyed it a lot, normally I can't really appreciate YA but this one was pretty refreshing and made me think a bit of Howl's Moving Castle which I really recommend :)

I checked out the teams spreadsheet and only realise now how close some of the teams are finishing this challenge. It feels like we just begun, but maybe it's me, I have no notion of time.

I just want to contribute as much as I can but I'm a bit stuck with what to read next, I will have to check out my shelves and kindle and see what I'm in the mood for. Then again I've put so much other books on hold.

message 1196: by Grace (new)

Grace (Calcat) | 665 comments Audrey Jane you are doing great. I love Howl's Moving Castle

You said you thought Uprooted would work for character that gains independence. Can those who have read it please explain why.

message 1197: by Karen (new)

Karen | 65 comments My book Possession (J R Ward) would count towards the.......Read a book where MCs attends a concert/art exhibit/theatre show...goal.

Main character goes to several concerts as new partner is a musician.

message 1198: by Grace (new)

Grace (Calcat) | 665 comments Thanks Karen.

New goal

Read a book which is set under the sea

message 1199: by Audrey Jane (new)

Audrey Jane | 1743 comments Grace wrote: "You said you thought Uprooted would work for character that gains independence. Can those who have read it please explain ..."
Yes, of course, it concerns the MC, Agnieszka, (view spoiler) I don't know if it works, we might need a second opinion :)

message 1200: by megan (new)

megan | 1477 comments I second the Uprooted independence goal.
