The Amazing Race Team Challenge - Round 2 - Tracking/Q&A/Announcements

I know you said the series rule applies when you are picking from someone's shelves, but does it also apply when reading a teammate's recommendation? Thanks!"
It would depend on the task - I can't recall all of them of the top of my head. So maybe? (I know that is super helpful, but you know my brain well enough to decipher it. 😂 Sorry, not sorry about that!)

Or the task..."
That would be picking from their shelves and the series rule applies.

Yes, sadly enough, I do understand! 🤪
The tasks I was concerned about are:
12. Read a book recommended to you by a teammate - no pass for this task.
99. Each teammate lists 5 favorite books. Select books from 2 different teammates and read them.

I believe for both tasks, the series rule would be allowed. I should probably check what I said last time...

Task 1 for all teams!
0. As a team select your favorite month of 2019 (because 2020 basically SUCKS!) and each player reads a book initially published in that month. No pass for this task.
For this task we are using the initial publication date. If one is listed at the top of the editions page, use that. Otherwise I will be looking for the first published date of an English language edition. Remember to use the first English language Kindle edition for your page count and ensure that your completion posts contain all the required information listed in message #3 of your team thread.

Remember the next task will not be assigned any sooner than Tuesday morning (my time) so there is time. 😊
Wow, I just realized what good timing I had - hubby's birthday is tomorrow and since we can't do any family things, hopefully I can spoil him some. 🥰

Hi Kat - if the paperback was published October, but Kindle edition was published November, do we use the Kindle edition publication date?

No, you would use the first English language edition date for this task if there is no date listed at the top of the editions page. In this case it would be October.

Ok - top of the editions page shows November 2019 - so I will go with that 🧐

In that month of 2019.
Team 15 would like to be "The Need to Read" please

Also two reminders -
Books can not be started before the task is given! (That is the case for all challenges in RRRC. Some challenges you can backdate, but only to the beginning of the challenge.)
Everyone should be getting notifications for this thread and your team thread!!

Got it!

I just found out today, but hopefully Audible Plus will have the romance we love while giving options to people who read other genres.

I hope they get more books in Plus because so far it has not been impressive.

I am thinking [book:The Player|5..."
As it is listed in a series, it works. 😊

Audible Plus will also be paid. According to the email (and their website) I got today it will be 7.95 monthly I believe. Or you can do the premium version. We are able to get it free, if you are a member ?, until November 1st.
From website:
The Audible Plus $7.95 offering will sit alongside Audible’s premium credit-based subscription option, which has been renamed Audible Premium Plus. For $14.95, Audible Premium Plus members will have access to the Audible Plus catalog and will also receive one credit a month which can be used for any piece of content outside the Plus catalog, regardless of price or length. The Audible Premium Plus membership is also available with varying numbers of credits to suit individual needs.

I think I'll wait to see once it launches to see if it makes sense to change my membership. In the meantime, I'll try to listen to all the books that are currently in my WL!!

Sorry, I didn't make that clear. It's free (and looks like it will stay that way) if you have a premium (paid) membership. $7.95 per month without.

Am I the only one who finds going out and dealing with people exhausting?! I think it is always being on guard, but when I get home I'm wiped out.

Welp, there's no longer an option to join Audible Escape. But it looks like those Cindy Gerard books are in Audible plus.

What? Is that because of the new Plus catalog or whatever they are calling it?
I guess that will save me $7 a month on top of my audible sub
