Steph (angel4492) | 32591 comments Hiya, Team Caps! Thanks for volunteering to guide your team through a round of BookShelf Bingo!

Your job, should you choose to accept it, will require a few things:
1 ~ Be our go-to person should we have any questions about your team
2 ~ Organize your teammate's weekly reads for each shelf/category so that the BSB Ninjas can quickly and easily verify and approve your stamp request(s)
2a ~ Create a master list in a post (preferably on the first page of your team's thread) and update it weekly or as often as necessary
2b ~ Post your team's stats on the Captain's Log prior to requesting a stamp
3 ~ Encourage and motivate your team (you may also ask to borrow Judithe's whip whenever necessary)
4 ~ Post regularly to ensure your team is communicating and on track each week
4a ~ Send them a PM and friendly poke if they haven't posted at least once a week, noted their book choice, and/or appear to have dropped out of webspace
5 ~ Send us a PM (Steph, Sandra or Judithe) should you need us for any reason throughout the game

Marisa (moretta) | 1333 comments Hi, I'm happy to begin too.

I'm Marisa, and I live in Madrid (Spain), so my hours will be a bit different ;) I love PNR and I like UF too (although I read less this genre too). My main genre now, however, is mystery, so this bingo will help me to be back to another branch of books.

And I like a lot "2 many good books", that's so real....

message 10: by Marisa (new)

Marisa (moretta) | 1333 comments Just a comment, do any of you want to be captain? I'll be happy (happier ;) ) if any of you want to be it, but, if not I can be.

Suzanne | 852 comments Thanks Sandra!

Marisa and Amanda - it is so nice to be playing with you both. Marisa, I'm impressed you have your free book - I looked a little bit yesterday for one but didn't choose THE one yet.

I'd be ok being captain, but I'd also be fine if someone else wants to.

I'm excited we get our first call today!

Marisa (moretta) | 1333 comments Suzanne wrote: " Marisa, I'm impressed you have your free book"

Not really.... I'm going to get that book on next Tuesday (I think I put it on hold at the library on September, more or less...), so I checked to see if it fit any of the options ;)

message 15: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 852 comments I'm glad it fits! You've been waiting a long time. Does that mean you are all caught up in the series? I have lots to go, but I have really enjoyed In Death.

message 16: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (daughterofoak) | 111 comments I'd prefer not to be captain. Thank you both for offering. :)

I haven't read the In Death series yet, but I've heard so many good things about it!

I'm not sure yet which book I'll read for my Free Space book, but I'm considering The Iron Duke. But there are so many options and I'll probably change my mind when I go through the lists again today

message 17: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 852 comments I'll go ahead and plan on captaining - it shouldn't be too bad because the challenge leaders on this are so supportive!

I'll change my post at the first to a Team Summary post that links to our weekly read summaries.

Yes, I'm all caught up in the series (it's one of the few series that I've read all). And I reread some books from time to time.

Oh no problem! And I think you are the first person I've met on Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ that has read that entire In Death series - you're my hero! That makes it extra exciting to get the latest book.

Review:
This book was so good! I was a little nervous to start this it because it was the first time in the series that the main character was someone other than Dina, and I thought I would miss her and the Gertrude Hunt. But soon I was falling hard for Maud, Helen, and Arland. Maud is such a strong character. She impressed me because not only does she have the fighting skills to rival even the toughest vampires, she was also kind toward the "aliens" and wicked smart. And Helen is adorable. Arland was supportive and protective of Maud, but gave her the space she needed to make her own decisions. Perfect hero quality.

Fated Blades (Kinsmen, #3) by Ilona Andrews

Review

I got this book as soon as it was published, but it had been sitting in my ereader and I don't know the reason. This time, I've remembered why I liked the kinsmen a lot of years ago when I read them first time. It's totally fast-paced, romantic, and there are a lot of adventure in it. I like how they interact with the families, how they know they environment. And I like both MC, not struggle with old history, deciding to advance. I seriously hope they write more books in this series.

I'm about half done with mine- should finish it today or tomorrow. Then I can request our stamp.

The Sun Down Motel by Simone St. James

Review:
I picked up The Sun Down Motel because it was a listener recommendation on the "What Should I Read Next" podcast. This book kept me guessing the entire time. At first it seemed to be a horror story about ghosts, and there were parts that scared the hell out of me. And then that took a back seat, and suddenly I was in the midst of a complex mystery surrounding two courageous and compassionate women who are tired of seeing other women being victimized, murdered, and then blamed by the media for their fates. It's about women helping women when no one else gives a shit.
I highly recommend this one!

Hunt the Stars (Starlight's Shadow, #1) by Jessie Mihalik
Review:

Several friends have told me how much they enjoyed Jessie Mihalik books, so I guess it is about time I read one. I will certainly read more!

This had science fiction, romance, and a mystery - and they were all nicely balanced. Tavia and her crew are hired by an old enemy to help retrieve a stolen item. I think what I liked most was watching the friendship among the crew, and seeing that friendship extend to the Valoffs on board the ship. The ship pet was also quite awesome.

Also, Octavia was a good character - she was smart and tough and also kind. I liked her from start to finish.
