PtP - Dynamite Bookworms (4)

2. Lead Rapper - reserve a couple of posts in this thread tracking your team's book selection and completion. (Alternatively they could convert a chat comment to the tracking post/s.)
3. Name your team. Using this round's theme of BTS, come up with a fun name. Given we are an open/public group with no age limit, so please make sure any chosen name is smart, not smutty ;)
Please PM your name to Jane(PS) by 31 March.
4. If you have a private profile, please 'friend' your team-mates. This is really important, because without this, your team-mates can't see your shelves to select a books under option 2. (It will also help with one of the categories in this round!)
5. Please post your book selections/completions in the format provided below. (This format is also posted in both the Q&A and Sign-Up threads.) We need to know the week that each book corresponds to, the page numbers, and how the book qualifies including links to lists/shelves (where applicable), etc. I can't stress this enough. When in doubt - link it*!
* don't link to your review in your completion post - reviews in your completion posts should be included in full in that post.
You don't want to start reading a book and then find it doesn't meet the requirements because some information (eg page count or theme link) was missing from your original post.
I will be monitoring this and your book will not be considered complete until I am satisfied that your selection and completion posts comply with the format rules of the challenge.
Remember - you can ONLY change your book selection in the week that the theme is called.
6. You MUST check in with your team each week, ideally once the theme is announced. Please let your team know if you expect to have spotty communication or are on holidays or having an operation, etc.
7. When you post the completion of your book, you must post a review; enough for us to know you have actually read the book. Please don't link to a review. You must post the review in this thread.
8. Re-reads are allowed but you can't read the same book twice within this challenge.
9. There is no prize for the winning team - bragging rights only :)
10. Each week, the theme will be announced in the Q&A/Announcement thread. The full list of themes announced during this round will be maintained in msg 1 of that thread.
The Rule on the Pass Option
* Each team can only have ONE member using their pass each week.
* Each member can only use that pass once each 5 weeks.
* This means that one or two team members (dependent upon the size of your team) will miss using a pass in each 5 week block.
* No-one can use the pass option in the last week of the challenge.
* In the final week Option 2 has altered and I will be allocating each team another team from which their book selection must be chosen :)

For selection post Option 1 you must have:
Week #
Bookcover/link
Page numbers
How the book qualifies - please note which qualifying bookshelf/list you are using or the tags that justifies that it works.
If the theme is based off the bookcover, post the cover. If there is a letter count in the title, publication date etc, please note these details.
For selection post Option 2 you must have:
Week #
Bookcover/link

Name of the team-member, their star rating, the date they read the book.
For selection post Option 3 you must have:
Week #

For the completion post you must have:

Please DO NOT CHAT in these selction/completion posts. It needs to be super clear.
If you 'waffle' about your decided book - please REPOST your selection once you decide. DO NOT go back and edit your waffling post.
IF YOU NEED TO CORRECT A POST FOR MISSING INFORMATION or because the didn't qualify etc, please REPOST this inforamtion in a NEW post. I don't want to have to keep going backwards in the thread.

First order of business, please introduce yourselves. Secondly, we have to come up with a name. I'm really horrible at this so I'm counting on y'all's input. I have listed some thoughts below, based on a couple of songs I like of theirs. Just remember it has to be something related to BTS
Savage Love of Reading (song is Savage Love (all over TikTok))
Savage Lover of Books
Permission to Dance & Read (song is Permission to Dance)
2 Cool 4 Skool Readers (album is 2 Cool 4 Skool)
Hip Hop Lovers of Reading (song Hip Hop Love)
Please note in msg #3 above how Jane wants the layouts of the selection & completion posts. Please make sure you follow that. Also, please do not put both your selection & completion posts in the same posting. We have to submit our name by March 31, with the first call on April 1.
If this is your first round of PTP, please read Jane's rules very carefully, they are listed on the sign-up page. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
I will list each weeks theme in msg #4. If for some reason I am not around when the theme is called, please note it in a post & I will add it when I do get on.
Most importantly, lets all have some fun & maybe we will find more books to add to our ever growing tbr shelves!

I read almost exclusively MM books and mostly contemporary. Like Diane I do not care for historical or YA. I also stick to lighter books, I can't handle anything to angsty or dark (life is hard enough right now)!
I am terrible at team names, but I like Diane's suggestion, especially the two with Savage Love in them.

I like Savage Lover of Books or Savage Booklover, or based on BTS songs we have Hip Hop Readers, Dynamite Bookworms, Go Go Read. That's all I can come up with, I’m honestly happy with any name :)

I live in Christchurch, New Zealand so I am normally awake when most are asleep.
I am lucky to be retired early and married for 37 years. We have one son who is happy with just himself and friends so no grandkids on the horizon.
I have read almost exclusively MM for a few years but this year have read a few MF and enjoyed. I have to have at least an HFN and like Michaele I don't like anything too angsty or dark. I hate angst caused by misunderstanding that could be sorted easy if they talked.
Looking forward to playing with you all.
Names, I like Kari's suggestion - Dynamite Bookworms

I did played the last round of this challenge and it was fun and ofc I need to join this round, after all, it's kpop teamed.
I am from Matulji,Croatia. Will start a new job in April so that will slow me down in reading but again bus raid meant reading time which is good. I started to listen to audiobooks and that saved me a lot. Before I would listen to music or some movies to have in the background while I clean or do other things but now it's audiobooks. The genre I read the most is romance. It's usually adult but there are some ya but I get annoyed but the stupid actions of mc and then I would ask myself why I am torturing myself to read this. I started to read again 2 years ago after 5 years of only reading fanfic and mangas mainly bc Croatian translations are terrible and don't finish translating series. The genre of manga I usually read is yaoi (mxm adult version)
Other stuff I love to do than reading is playing games with friends and anime/manga. And ofc spending time with my cat Sima. She is a spoiled little siamese demon but I love her.

Review: This was a cute story about a fox shifter who witnesses a murder, so witness protection sends him to hide in a small town among swan shifters. I love to read about shifters, but there wasn’t enough actual shifting going on. The end was anticlimactic and there wasn’t enough action to keep it moving. I was hoping for more drama with the drug lord looking for Dean. The MCs were ok, Dean was amazing throughout the story, but it took me a while to warm up to Maddie. Her best friend was a much better character, and I believe the second book is her story.

Review: I wanted to like this more than I did. I really like Max Maddox's dinosaur shifter series (which is not something I'd ever thought I'd say - dinosaur-shifters? Really? But they are a lot of fun). This book wasn't as much fun. I liked the characters, but it was darker than I expected. I think this might be a case of it's me, not the book.
If you like books set in the Old West with shifters and death wraiths, this book might be for you.

Review: Poor Felix, he just kept getting overlooked because he didn't fit the mold of an Omega. At least he wasn't abused like some of our other Omega's. Kaden, even though he went through hell & wasn't drowning in "poor" me mentality. These two were perfect for each other. I'm glad that things for starting to look better for shifters & just maybe the walls will finally get knocked down. OMG I knew Holland had it bad, but his father is a real POS. I can't wait for the next book in the series.

Love the Thirds books and enjoyed this reread. One of the better ones where we finally see Seb and Hudson sort out what tore them apart. The penultimate chapters however jumped and were very choppy and ott even for the Thirds. Reminds me that I have yet to start the TIN offshoot series.

Review: I love this series. Stan has always been my favorite I just love his broken English & he just plain cracks me up. Erik's dream from moving from the AHL to the NHL has finally come through but what he didn't expect is to come face to face with the man he walked away from 3 years previously. As it turns out, Erik had a drunken one-night stand & she ended up pregnant. He didn't know this when he starts a relationship with Stan. When he finds out about it, he does what he feels is the right thing & leaves Stan & marries her. Now he is back & his divorce is just about final & he has full custody of his son. I loved Noah, as does Stan. When they come face to face, Stan knows that he still loves him but is not ready to forgive him or listen to what happened that summer. This was a great second chance read and did take time & effort for them to start a new relationship. I wanted to hate Noah's mom, Freja, but when she gives the money back to Erik, my feelings to her softened & I could see her point in all this. Just because she gave birth does not a mother make. I can't wait for this to come out in audio.

Review: This was less angsty than I unexpected, I think it’s somewhere between 3 and 4 stars which I rounded up to 4. Jason and Derek are college football teammates, and there’s a spark between them from the moment they meet, even though Jason is straight. Eventually they become best friends and their relationship becomes something more. They both have things they need to deal with. I enjoyed the pacing, the dual POV and the fact that they were both pretty mature for their age, especially Jason. Overall it was very sweet.

Review: book was just ok, not that memorable, but sweet. Ben had to give up his professional wakeboarding career because of an injury. Davis hires Ben to teach him to wakeboard so he can connect with his step brother. They start a relationship pretty much right away, but have problems because of Ben's past. I didn't like (view spoiler)

Selections will still need to be posted by the usual time (Friday 4pm US EST) and not a day early, although hopefully everyone will have those books sorted out early as well.

A reread and an enjoyable easy one. Yes, there was a little bit of drama and teeth gnashing but I knew the guys would sort it out. There is quite a bit of superfluous detail ion the book but I did enjoy the insights to Japanese culture and their different justice system.
A solid 3.5 read

Review: I enjoyed the story and the writing but I had a hard time with Gabe. I really disliked him for about 75% of the book. I think I needed Gabe’s POV from the start, being inside his head would’ve made me more sympathetic to the constant hot & cold. The last chapter made a huge difference. On the other hand, I absolutely adored Dylan. He was funny and sweet, and it broke my heart every time Gabe did something hurtful. I’m looking forward to the next book, Jude was a cutie pie and I hope he finds an amazing man.

Review: That was disappointing. I really was expecting more. They spent so little on page time as a couple getting to know each other that it was mainly just booty calls. I also didn't care for the narrator.
