Hiya, Team Caps! Thanks for volunteering to guide your team through a round of BookShelf Bingo! Your job, should you choose to accept it, will require a few things:
1 ~ Be our go-to person should we have any questions about your team
2 ~ Organize your teammate's weekly reads for each shelf/category so that the BSB Ninjas can quickly and easily verify and approve your stamp request(s)
2a ~ Create a master list in a post (preferably on the first page of your team's thread) and update it weekly or as often as necessary
2b ~ Post your team's stats on the Captain's Log prior to requesting a stamp
3 ~ Encourage and motivate your team (you may also ask to borrow Judithe's whip whenever necessary)
4 ~ Post regularly to ensure your team is communicating and on track each week
4a ~ Send them a PM and friendly poke if they haven't posted at least once a week, noted their book choice, and/or appear to have dropped out of webspace
5 ~ Send us a PM (Steph or Sandra) should you need us for any reason throughout the game

Everlasting is such a fun, quirky, supernatural town.
Marcy works at the local coffee shop & bakery, and her secret, everyone has one in Everlasting, is she is cursed. Her curse, ensures she changes to meet the requirements of the latest loser who is attracted to her, and she to him. She's had tattoos, that magically disappear after she breaks up, she also has a closet of crazy outfits and she's done crazy out of character things as well.
Along comes a new firefighter Nicholas who is very attracted to Marcy at first glance, and Marcy is waiting to see how she'll change this time. Nothing happens, except it appears she now has a stalker to deal with as well as a curse.
Enjoyed this trip back to Everlasting.

Loved this first in series book.
Slightly reminiscent of the Dark in You series, in that demons inside the MCs, totally obsessed with each other yet slightly standing back.
But the premise of the story is totally new.
Aeons vs Ancients, both the same type of supe, and War is inevitable. The Aeons have exiled 7 Ancients and caged them in Devil's Cradle expecting them to go stir crazy.
Wynter Dellavale, a witch, is exiled from Aeon and ends up at Devil's Cradle with a ragtag bunch of magic users, who insist they are a coven & Wynter is their priestess. There she is interviewed by Cain, the Ancient on duty who allows them to stay, and takes a small part of their souls in payment.
Sexy times, mysterious sleepwalking times, bitchy other woman times, lots of small battles, leading to a huge battle (view spoiler)
So looking forward to the next book...... Is it here yet?

Review:
This is why I love this game-I get to read a bunch of books I would never normally pick up. I wasn't sure what to think of this one when I saw the cover since I'm not a fan of the new cartoon-y looking covers, but I got caught up in the story within just a few pages. Katie's determination to start over fresh after her jerk of a fiance dumps her struck just the right chord for me. She was adventurous, but not stupid with it. The mystery was also very well done, with lots of clues and red herrings thrown in. And of course, the spellbook club was great, with all of the different characters contributing that extra oomph to the story. If I get a chance I will definitely be interested in picking up the next book.
I'm going to look and see what I can pick for my Free Space book next and get that one done too.

REVIEW:
3.5 stars.
This was an ok read. New author for me and I liked her writing style and the story was ok. I couldn't completely connect with the MC because i found her to be too timid, naive and scared all the time. Jade is a half witch/half mystery. She is caught up in a murder investigation, I figured out the bad guy well before the characters . She is scared to use her power or face the reality that her family may not be who they seem. Wasn't a bad read but I don't know if I will continue this series.

Another charming tale of Cambio Springs.
This time Allie Smith, fox, mother of 4, missing husband and Oliver "Ollie" Campbell, bear, owner of The Cave bar & grill, protector of Allie & kids, and also pining for her since they were in HS together.
Allie is apparently the only one in town who is oblivious to Ollie's pining and everyone also knows that the husband is no good. Small towns that know everyone's business.
So the mystery is where is Joe, was there a poker game and if so did Joe win the game and where is the money?
Then 10 mths later a body is found in the desert. Is it Joe? Forensics will have to find out.
The delightful surprise towards the end is the bad guy (view spoiler) meets a fitting end.
The epilogue leads us to the 4th tale of Cambio Springs which is out now
