Most of the book was the same as usual. If you like it, you like it. The end is ridiculous extremist propaganda. While some of the politics in the series are clearly parodies, the authors views are ridiculous. While pointing out the situation in Israel / Palestine is regrettable, all blame is placed on Israel. The book consists of a university arc.
Seems to borrow the worldbuilding of Path of Ascension, dumb it down slightly, and use it as the background.
It looks to lead to a group / harem situation like some of the other books.
