Finally! Book-accurate bushy hair!
Notes:
(1) Snape: “We are practicing nonverbal spells, Potter.
Harry: "Yes."
Snape: "Yes, sir."
Harry: "There’s no need to call me 'sir,' Professor."
- New levels of reckless sass.
(2) Harry smells something flowery in the love potion. Just 10 pages later, Harry smells something flowery and turns to see Ginny.
- Not exactly subtle.

(1) '"Snape!" ejaculated Slughorn, who looked the most shaken, pale
and sweating. "Snape! I taught him! I thought I knew him!"'
- I sincerely hope that "ejaculated" means something different in British English.
(2) Fleur snatches ointment from Molly and takes over dabbing Bill. Ah, the symbolic passing of the ointment.
(3) Six down, one to go. I'll see you next book!

(1) Kicking another wizard's wand must be akin to spitting in their face. At least Snape didn't snap Harry's in half.
(2) Gee, I haven't heard of the Hand of Glory since Book Two. That's a deep call back.
(3) Fleur: "You thought I would not weesh to marry him? ... What do I care how he looks? I am good-looking enough for both of us, I theenk!
- Haha! Nice one, Fleur.

(1) On one hand, Harry should be less repetitive with spells. Petrificus Totalus over and over gets boring. On the other hand, if it works, why change?

- A regular Marty McFly right there: "Nobody. Calls me. Chicken!"
(3) "I, the Half-Blood Prince!"
- Like "I, Claudius"?

(1) Amycus calls Dumbledore "Dumby." I imagine a green stick of plasticine with a horse named Pokey.
(2) Fenrir: “I wouldn’t want to miss a trip to Hogwarts ... Not when there are throats to be ripped out... Delicious, delicious.
- Can werewolves be cannibals? Or does it only count in human form?

(1) Malfoy: "He’s a double agent, you stupid old man, he isn’t working for you."
Dumbledore: "We must agree to differ on that, Draco. It so happens that I trust Professor Snape."
- I use "agree to disagree" a lot too.
(2) Malfoy: "I got the idea... from the Mudblood Granger."
Dumbledore: "Please do not use that offensive word in front of me."
- Total boss to the end.

(1) Draco disarms Dumbledore... the significance of which is yet to be known. I love how Rowling seeds plot points in deep cuts.
(2) Dumbledore: "Killing is not nearly as easy as the innocent believe... So tell me, while we wait for your friends... how did you smuggle them in here?"
- The old "I'm going to die anyway, so tell me your plan" trick! Bond would be proud.

(1) Harry needs blood to open the archway. Luckily, he was already cut whilst fighting Inferi. Even zombies have a silver lining.
(2) '"It’s going to be all right, sir," Harry said over and over again ... "Don’t worry..."
"I am not worried, Harry," said Dumbledore, his voice a little stronger despite the freezing water. "I am with you."'

(1) How is Harry shocked that blood magic is a thing? Voldemort was revived by his blood!
(2) Dumbldore: "You are underage and unqualified. Voldemort would never have expected a sixteen-year-old to reach this place: I think it unlikely that your powers will register compared to mine."
- So... Harry should be glad the alarm can't detect his negligible amount of magic.

(1) Perhaps Harry's grown too used to magic. He's fine charging headlong into danger, but a short swim in cold water totally freaks him out. Who is he? Film-Ron?
(2) "Harry had long since learned that bangs and smoke were more often the marks of ineptitude than expertise."
- I wonder if he's referring to Seamus, who's gimmick is he often accidentally blows things up?

(1) Ginny: "All Romilda Vane does is ask me if it’s true you’ve got a hippogriff tattooed across your chest ... I told her it’s a Hungarian Horntail ... Much more macho."

(2) "Rage and resentment fought shock and excitement."
- Fight it! Angst was so Book 5.

Truly one of the best lines in the series 😁

- Not exactly subtle.
awwww!

Well, smart in the moment, not smart in the long term :)

I agree, it's adorable. Though, even then he doesn't put two and two together, which is kind of adorable too :)

Well that's boys for you! haha!
Most overused Harry Potter sass moment, but it's areally good one. Can't fault you for it.

Yes, overused by never worn out :)

Thanks, Karen! I'm happy you're enjoying them :)

I mean... it couldn't come out of nowhere, right? XD

I agree, Harry's much sassier in the books. I think it's been a slow boil of sass since about Prisoner of Azkaban, and this line to Snape is its apogee :)

Thanks for the recommendation :)

In the book it describes her hair as getting "bushier and bushier." The film merely shows it at regular Hermione bushiness, albeit bushier than it's ever been since the first film. Wish it was this way in all the films 😁

Right XD
I think it also showcases how Harry is finally coming out of that bullied shell and finding himself. Being comfortable and bold -even if he is still pretty much confused.

It's also why I dislike the film portrayal of Hermione. In the books she's scared and crying all the time and gets braver and more confident as the series goes on. In the films she's like that from the start and never changes.

And they made Ron just a silly, dumb kid instead of the clever and stratagetic boy he is. They really did suck all the personality out of many characters...

It's why I always say that the series would have been much better done as a television show rather than films. There would be more opportunity for side stories and character moments, whereas the films seemed all about cramming as much in as possible.

It's why I..."
True. Especially the later films where the books got a bit bigger.
A series would have been awesome but maybe the time -by what I mean the year - wouldn't have been the best for it. Could they have afforded it? Could they have catched the same level of attention?

No, it wouldn't have. You're right. The HBO/Netflix model hadn't caught hold yet and films absolutely were the right way to go. That being said, Harry Potter is no doubt going to be remade one day, and with the success of Game of Thrones, a series may be the logical next step. But that may be a decade away still.

I agree, at some point, they are gonna go for the remake because they can never resist XD
A decade, three decades, I'll be happy to catch it whenever it happens.

Hopefully the remake will be more Casino Royale than Ghostbusters. It'll be interesting to see what bit roles the original cast might get, since you know they're for sure going to do that :)

For sure! I mean, I just hope something subtle and not them relying on them for all... I would be freaking out every time I saw them XD

Exactly, just small roles, not full cameo-centric scenes like some remakes I've seen recently.

My goodness, yes! I hate it when they rely on the cameos to pull the weight of the show *rolls eyes*

Absolutely. To me, cameos should be like gravy, not the meat itself.

Great analogy XD

I know right! Hermione would look more like the book Hermione

Perhaps it took too long to get her hair like that? Or else the actress might not have liked it, who knows? But we're all worse off for it 🤷♂

I don't think it's about the actress, Emma would do her best to portray the character perfectly

Well, whatever the case, it's a lost opportunity at the end of the day.
